This probably depends upon one's sense of humor, since a guy did get executed and all, but...
It's not just one guy though. If the reports are true Jang was in favor of moving North Korea towards the path of Chinese-style economic reform as well as opposed to the "nuclear-first" policy which held North Korea's nuclear program as non-negotiable. If he had won whatever power struggle evidently took place, it could have sharply reduced the chance of nuclear war and increased the living standards for the North Korean people. Also, since executions among North Korea's top leadership are so uncommon, this could scare a lot of the generals in carrying out orders from Kim Jong Un even if they are highly imprudent or suicidal. The best thing to happen would be for someone close to Kim to put a slug in his head.
