I have to think this is related to Podesta/DNC in some way.

The polls were already "tightening" in the past couple days... the media will imply this is the cause, even if it's just partisans coming home.

If there is nothing else besides this letter, then the impact is probably marginal beyond what already was likely to happen.

The Media is getting pissed at the brevity of the letter... Comey is getting a lot more D heat than he did this summer. He's going to have to hold a presser.

Somehow this went from really upsetting me to totally bemusing... 2016 is so weird.

This went from House of Cards to Veep really quick.

Veep is the better approximation of real life, so it was inevitable...

I mean... wouldn't the worst case scenario here be an email between Huma and someone else basically saying "we got away with it" and listing all the incriminating things the FBI missed in their investigation? The chances of that are nill. In reality, Huma probably discussed the matter with other people and they found those emails, and they are now reviewing them.

And frankly, Clinton dumping Huma isn't exactly a big loss at this point.

Steve Kornacki keeps calling this a potentially huge October surprise
Is Kornacki really an authority on this?
Kornacki is only right when the news fits the narrative, right?

I don't think anyone here has ever cited Steve Kornacki as particularly prescient.

2. These emails between Huma/Hillary were deleted from Hillary's private server (otherwise FBI would already have been in possession of them).

they have stated before that this is not the case.

They made a big deal about duplicates before.

They have found emails on another device... they are confirming that they are not classified. Nothing in here suggests that these are new, or are the deleted emails.

Do you guys think it's possible that the Weiner connection will mitigate the damage? Since HE'S the interesting part of the story and not the e-mails themselves?

I think the fact that it's not HRC's emails, but rather Huma's, is the largest mitigating factor.
