Although I admit that seeing university students in Mr Leitch's Hogwarts-type uniforms would be charming in a way, uniforms would be too impractical at public universities. The student demographic is too fluid, between transfers, dropouts, returning adults, etc.

At A&M, there is a 3000-member Corps of Cadets, in addition to a vigorous ROTC, so seeing college kids in (military) uniforms is nothing special for me.
