I was going to vote for Nelson Rockefeller as I felt he would be the most electable, Goldwater simply can't win. Although reading the lovely write up at the beginning of the thread made me go for President Chase instead.

Edit: Reading through the comments I get the feeling Chase will lose. Sad

LBJ wanted to be a 100% domestic president.  His handling of Vietnam was pretty much what he thought JFK would do.

Also if people had followed my suggestion to have Morse run for VP we would have a Democrat who would handle Vietnam differently.
