Well since this hit the floor Ebowed was opening himself up to this amendment:

I propose to replace Sections A-J with an amendment to create a flat percentage of 5%

That is not a specific enough amendment - You need to go back to the original bill and tell me at what "price range" the 8% starts at.

$0+, it's a flat tax

You want to put an estate tax of 8% on everyone?
Certainly better than unfair percentages on different groups.  I think totally eliminating it would not be a great idea.  Possibly dropping the percentage though might be better.

If there are better ideas why don't you propose them instead of suggesting to the Senate another 8% off the top is ok to you.

8% seemed reasonable to myself, anything less would have a hard time getting through the senate.

I withdraw my amendment for now, but I ask what the effect would be of eliminating estate taxes.

Based on past precedent, I protest this decision.  As was done with my Yates Cancer Research Bill, I ask that this bill still on the senate floor.

Protest as you will, I am merely implementing the procedure the PPT outlined that he would apply in such situations during his election. Nobody protested any of the suggestions, then or since (until now I suppose), nor did anyone stand against him, thus I feel they have been implicitly approved.

For reference, Sam's comments on this matter may be found here.

I shall, though defer to the PPT on what is to be done.
Well, I was not familar with all of that, however, the decision should be referred to Sam and also this why my withdrawal act should be enacted sooner rather than later.
