NOTE: In October the GOP passes a new line of succession bill removing the speaker.

45. Donald Trump: January 20, 2017-June 5, 2018 (IMPEACHED)
46. Mike Pence: June 5, 2018-October 18, 2018 (RESIGNED)
47. Chuck Grassley: October 18, 2018-December 3, 2018 (DIED IN OFFICE)
48. Mike Pompeo: December 3, 2018-December 23, 2018 (RESIGNED)
49. Rudy Giuliani: December 23, 2018-July 10, 2019 (RESIGNED)
50. Mark Esper: July 10, 2019-November 6, 2019 (ASSASSINATED)
51. Kash Patel: November 6, 2019-March 8, 2020 (RESIGNED)
52. Mitch McConnell: March 8, 2020-January 20, 2021 (LOST RE-ELECTION)

Trump is impeached over direct collusion. Pence is forced to resign by association. Chuck Grassley becomes President but soon dies due to stress. President Pompeo is only President until Grassley's VP pick, Rudy Guiliani, is confirmed. Guiliani starts off strong but collapses after his own collusion attempts are revealed. Mark Esper becomes President as the Secretary of State, since the 50-50 Senate hasn't picked a Pro Tem. President Patel probably had the quickest and most absurd path to the presidency, as he served as acting Secretary of Defense (even though he was down in the rankings), thus propelling him to the Presidency. He also is forced to resign for some scandal. The new President is therefore Mitch McConnell in accordance with the pro tem position. Mitch wins a bruising primary against Michael Flynn and loses the general by a lot.
