Its more the toxic PR mess that he's managed to create out of it for himself (is this ironic or apt given that he used to be a PR man? Undecided). All he had to do was say that a) he is not his father b) if he has benefited from his father's questionable actions then he is mortified and the story would have died on day one. This he did not do (and hilariously he continues to insist that his father did nothing wrong) and so here we are...

...there's also the hypocrisy question. I.e. he'll have known his entire adult life about what sort of a man his father was and what sort of things he got up to, and yet was happy to play the Moral Crusader when a bunch of celebrities were outed as having questionable tax arrangements a few years back.
Maybe he should just diddle a pig again. This time on live TV.
