Representative Jim Nussle formed "Iowans for Nussle" on January 7, 2005, confirming the rumor he will run for Governor.

If he doesn't run again, who'd you think would get the Democratic nod?

Since Lt. Governor Sally Penderson has dropped out it will either go to Secretary of State Chet Culver or the only already announced Democrat State Representative Ed Fallon. Fallon is already campaigning state wide to become better knwon in Iowa, like Nussle is doing.

any chance of a Vilsack-Nussle job switch? What part of Iowa is Vilsack originally from?

Vilsack has stated he wishes to return to his law office in Des Moines.
