It's from the Onion. It's a parody of sexists.
So it should be taken as "third-degree" humour, in a "haha, look at what stupid joke the sexists would come up with!" sort of way? Unfortunately, I think this kind of humour is too subtle to be understood yet. For it to be, the ridiculousness of the joke would need to be universally recognized.
