I'm surprised Maya Wiley isn't connecting more. Why is that?
Running her campaign like Elizabeth Warren — including a lot of the same messaging and a lot of the same staff. She's doing about as well.

Popping in just to say that I can't help feeling pretty sorry for KaiserDave after the recent news about Scott Stringer. Pages of posts on the enthusiasm about working on Stringer's campaign now totally shattered. F

1. Write In: Phil Scott 2. Donovan 3. Morales 4. Garcia 5. Yang

Is that just a meme or would you actually write in the Phil? It would be fitting for you I guess.

Well this wording suggests you don't actually know who you will write in and that Phil was just a meme. Sad!

Scott's campaign is now saying they had a brief consensual relationship.

So, yeah I'm done. This no longer constitutes a denial and is thus unacceptable, and I'm not gonna be the volunteer on the street explaining this to voters, many of whom are women and may be survivors.

So, yeah, I'll either by helping Lander or returning to the sidelines.

Sorry to hear that. You and the other staffers and volunteers must feel so betrayed by this, especially just 5 weeks from the primary

Scott is speaking and he's barely denying it anymore.

So disappointing. Blagh.

Edit: Okay that's not true, he is denying any misconduct or abusive language on his part, but, said they had a light relationship.

Here's the full thread covering Stringer's speech he denies the accusations and claims it was a completely consensual relationship.

I'm just gonna step back and think things over.

I don't know what to think about this anymore, but the idea of campaigning to voters and trying to explain this away sounds awful. Why would I do that?

And do I even believe him? I don't know. What I do know is that I should step away.

Kaiserdave, I get that you invested invaluable time and emotional capital in Stringer’s campaign, among other things, but isn’t this kind of exaggerating things.

the mantra here is that Politicians lie and be nasty, only to serve what will benefit them, which in most cases is measured and sustained by the ballot box. I’m not getting your emotions here.

I mean I get I’m being very pessimistic and blunt, but I seriously would like to know the deal here? Like, I cannot comprehend even in abstract what you’re going on about in this intensity, but I’d like too.

Well I had put faith and energy in this guy to be the next Mayor of my city, running against a conservadem and a technocrat. Hearing he’s possibly been a sexual assault perpetrator is fairly upsetting.

I’m not as cynical as you are.

Although I suppose I’m not that upset, just exhausted and disappointed.

Ramos was an early, vocal supporter of Stringer. This is a sign to drop out if there ever was one.
Hopefully progressives can rally around Morales and change-up the race.

Yeah clearly Scott should drop out. I'm not ranking Morales first, or second, but it's not as if anyone is beating Yang.

Two months is a long time. Yang is in a solid position, but anything can happen.

If anyone has a slim chance for surging, it's Wiley or Garcia. Both are probably not dead last on too many people's rankings. Morales and Adams likely have a lot of first-and-last rankings, and that candidate isn't winning a ranked-choice race.

I might as well say my fears about candidates like Yang. Obviously capitalistic candidates coming from the thinktanks that are able to have cross-appeal with young people is concerning. I don’t want to fret about young people becoming conservatives or voting for them, but that’s what I see happening. He’s winning off of being quirky and memey enough in the minds of people, including the young.

I’m worried that the people I don’t like in politics will adopt this sort of strategy now.

Sounds like you have bigger fears/problems about young voters than candidates like Yang.

Regardless, Yang's strength with Asian & (possibly) Jewish voters seems just as (if not more) significant as his strength with young people.

On one hand, he should answer for his moral actions. On the other hand, she wants his (former) voters.

Scott is going to hemorrhage endorsements, money, and support until primary day. He should drop out while he still has some dignity left.

Damn, I had a lot of faith in this man. Sad
