This will put him in a fight with Swalwell for the 20th spot

Go Bullock!

Thx for sticking.

The criteria for this CNN debate are the same as for the MSNBC debate, but it seems Bullock has a better chance to qualify this time, as he now has the 3 polls necessary.

This will put him in a fight with Swalwell for the 20th spot, who also has 3 polls right now. But there's still 2 weeks left and more polls will come out until the DNC decides who has qualified.

If more than 20 candidates meet the criteria, how do they decide who to drop?

The one who's polling the lowest; aka the guy who changed his son's diaper and thinks that qualifies him to be President of the United States.

Question:

Are seated debates not common in the US ?

I’d like to have a debate where candidates are seated in cozy chairs like we have here in Austria.

Debate podiums are unnecessarily stiff.

There was a 2008 GOP primary debate that looked like a game show:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9EzQy1qHMc

Seated debates just look weird, they look less like presidential debates and more like a family dinner conversation. Truly, if a candidate can't be standing for thirty minutes till a commercial break then that candidate probably isn't strong enough to be president

All the people of color ended up on night 2.

Wrong; we have proud Latinx candidate Beto O'Rourke and noble Cherokee squaw Elizabeth Warren on night one.

Didn't watch the debate; went to see the new Tarantino film instead. However, I'm watching it now. I think I got bingo about 45 minutes in. Those opening statements were a real whirlwind of platitudes, though. I think I checked off about five boxes during the first three minutes.

Andrew Yang is the only one who has an original take on these issues. Everyone else is talking about kids in cages and going for the appeal to pathos; Yang is addressing automation and how immigrants are being scapegoated. Go after the disease, not the symptom.

Good line from Biden. De Blasio's remarks-- and his candidacy in general-- are indeed "bizarre."

Apparently you can use words in a presidential debate that you can't even use on Atlas without being censored.

Also, that "um" from Gillibrand was awkward as f**k.

Biden had a good response there, but Booker's "I'm shocked that you do" was really brutal.

The entire field needs to just dunk on Gabbard for her Assad support.

Boo-hoo.

She prosecuted people for drug use and then said she'd smoked weed. Unmask her!

Gillibrand is utterly delusional if she thinks she'll be able to explain "white privilege" to Trump supporters. She needs to go away.

Gabbard lecturing Harris yet she meets with Assad who's killed thousands as well as islamophobic Hindu nationalists and y'all stan her, that's sad huh?

But meeting with Bibi and the house of Saud is just fine 🙄🙄

Trying to distract? Harris backers are on the ropes! Ooh, your desperation is tangible!

Gillibrand just tried to join in the Biden pile-on, but he was ready. That line about raising his kids alone was great, and he's exposing her as the concern troll she is.

Biden was ready for the Hyde Amendment attack as well. His response actually made sense. He still makes me cringe in embarrassment every time he talks, but he's definitely improved.

Did Gabbard just say that Trump supports Al Qaeda? What's that supposed to mean?

Yang nailed that closing statement. Highlighted the ridiculousness of these debates and how fake this whole charade is.

"Prosecute the case" was a nice line on Harris' part. Juuuuust subtle enough to be considered smooth.

Tulsi just went off the deep end. Jesus.

Reining in the bloated military is going off the deep end?

Nope but her presentation made her look genuinely insane.
You just want to diminish her strong performance. Chill out. She didn't sound insane.

It was pretty blatant fearmongering. She could've worded it better.

I'm gonna go ahead, save the humility, and throw out this old Kirsten 2020 hat. It's not gonna last much longer after tonight.

What a disappointment.

Top stuff. Good of you to own up to it, which is more than I can say for the former Beto backers on this site.
