Holcomb is probably too white and male for Georgia Democrats.

White? x
Male? x
Heterosexual? x

I see your posts are about as useful as ever.

In any case, Isakson should have retired for the sake of his own health a long time ago. I don't say that to be crass; Parkinson's is beastly and it was bound to eventually start seriously effecting his ability to go on legislating. I hope he's alright, and I hope he finally calls it quits and resigns so he can live the rest of his old age in peace.

I think Kemp is looking for someone who can win in 2020 rather than trying to find the Trumpiest candidate.

Thing is, Collins is both the only really serious candidate to submit himself for consideration and relatively easy for us to beat, so Kemp doesn't have much choice but to shoot himself in the foot on this one. Kingston and Price are getting up in age and they've been cycled out of politics for a while and Broun is a goddamn lunatic and a half.

Hoo, boy, Kemp really didn't get a great field of applicants, did he?

I sense an absolute massacre of a primary in the future, which is brilliant news for us.

Also, the thread subtitle should definitely be "Loeffingstock" after this recent development.

Sounds good, but it’s too partisan on its own. “Loeffingstock or ________?”

Alright, less partisan idea: "She Who Loeffs Last"

The best competitive state in the nation to run a priest as a serious candidate. For once I agree with the DSCC's strategizing.

After all those months focusing on Maine, it looks like a Collins might just hand us our Senate majority after all!

Raphael Warnock vs. Doug Collins is perhaps the best possible microcosm of the Trump era.

And a really good luck for Democrats tbh.

Will Warnock have trouble with Tarver in his primary?

Not likely, with the full power of the Democratic Party machine behind him. A good point of comparison would be Stacey Abrams becoming the overwhelming frontrunner for the Gov nomination the instant the Party got behind her.

Don't know why you guys want Collins so bad. He is a significantly stronger candidate than Loeffler by every metric.

Factually untrue.

DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond will NOT enter the Senate race: https://www.ajc.com/blog/politics/the-jolt-michael-thurmond-will-seek-election-dekalb-ceo-forgoing-senate-bid/Ra2Y0oTaBkSxXFsXsnuLaK/.  Thurmond would have been a significant challenger for the Democratic nomination.

Wish he'd enter the other race.

Loeffler apparently caught for insider trading.

Honestly, this isnt good news in terms of the Senate race. Basically solidifies that Collins ( the stronger candidate) will be republican.

They're both weak General Election candidates. The GOP will slide even further in the suburbs with Collins.
Collins is actually a solid candidate for the general. Think of it this way-- if Trump wins, so does Collins, and I could envision him outrunning Trump a bit. I can not say the same of Loeffler, particularly after this.

The GOP is already max'xed out in the rurals, whereas they still have room for decline in the cities and suburbs.  Collins isn't exactly the type who can recover the GOP share of urban and suburban votes, whereas a non-corrupt Loeffler could help make up the difference.

And before you bring up Brian Kemp, he had his own unique style of campaigning.

Yeah, it was called voter suppression.

On March 20 I contacted Loeffler's office via their web contact page (since their phones were tied up), urging her to resign.

Today I got an email response.  It begins:

"Dear Mr. ______,

Thank you for contacting me about the impeachment trial of President Donald J. Trump. It is an honor to serve as Senator for the people of Georgia, and I appreciate the opportunity to hear from you on this important issue."

Words fail me.

Ooohhh deeeaaarrr gooooddddd...

Ossoff and Warnock are the best choices in their respective primaries and it's not even close. They balance one another out very well.

Outside of their races obviously being different, I don't see this. Both are male candidates based in the Atlanta metro who don't bring actual governing experience to the ticket.

I've made it clear on this forum I think Tomlinson is far and away the better candidate for the regularly scheduled race. It's not because I trivially or superficially like her more.

The problem is that Tomlinson is a dumpster fire of a candidate in all actuality. The campaign she's run for the primary alone has been a big, wet thud.

I regret to inform you all that Kelly Lofeller has, for a third time, compared herself favorably to Attila the Hun

Wait, hold up. This kinda feels... pro-civil war? Like they obviously still don't understand who Attila actually was but more importantly, the idea that the right should "attack the far left" like Attila would've seems just a little bit pro-inciting violence.

Get ready to be on the wrong end of every "responsible gun owner" in America. The militias are coming.
