Gas prices are one of the things that effect normal, everyday Americans the most.

If it was so easy to make gas cheaper, don't you think that a President with poor approval ratings would do it if he could?

Transportation fuel was < 3% of consumer spending in 2020, and it's probably no more than 4% now. Housing or food prices are far more important than fuel. Americans just need to suck it up. There should be absolutely no government efforts to bring down the price of gas, and if anything, fuel taxes should be raised higher.

It is grotesque that Americans use having a baby (a literal baby) as an excuse to buy some gas-guzzler. This obscene excess doesn't happen in any of the many other happier and more civilized countries than the US.

This is why Democrats should stay on-message and focus on positive economic developments for the American consumer, such as the plummeting price of snow crab. As Obama said when he visited the White House, "Got a story to tell, just need to tell it."
I want food prices to go up so eating becomes a luxury and I can flaunt my lifestyle on IG and TikTok.
