I cannot think of any Republican politician in Appalachia who would be a member of a left-wing party in Europe. It is true that there are at least parts of Appalachia that, if transported to Europe, would plausibly vote for the left, but that's different.
It is possible to identify Democrats who would not belong to the left in Europe because the Democratic Party polled 51.3% in the last presidential election and 47.8% in the last legislative election. There is no country in Europe where left-wing parties regularly gain this large a share of the vote, which is to say that the Democratic Party is a larger tent than the left anywhere in Europe. For the same reason, it is hard to imagine a Republican politician who would belong to the left in a typical European country.
