Surprising, since he's for sure safe in the GE. Possible this increases the chance for him to vote for Trump conviction.

Let's just hope Jim Jordan won't replace him.

I had the exact same thoughts when I heard this news. Anybody but Jordan, please! I doubt Democrats will be competitive, even if it's maybe 1% more winnable at best, so any Republican who wants it is going to get the seat.

Jordan is in line to chair the judiciary. Would he give it up for a senate run?

Hopefully not. Somebody please remind him of that. I think he's less harmful in the House, even as a committee chair.

Thank goodness that Jordan won't be in the Senate! I'm sure that whomever the inevitable Republican Senator ends up being won't be much better, but even a 1% improvement in sanity, when it comes to what the GOP has become, still makes a world of difference. It's a Roger Marshall situation.

It doesn't matter because this race is likely R at the most optimistic for the Democratic candidate, but Dore would probably lose worse than anyone else possible. Even Kucinich would be a better nominee. Hell, they're damn near almost the same when it comes to their political persona.

I would ask "with Acton now out of the race what is Olawakandi's next obsession going to be?" And it appears to be the whole "Desantis only barely beat an 'afro-Socialist'" thing.

Yikes....

Turning a race that should be likely/Safe R into a competitive race... but then again it's Ohio lmao

This Tweet will not move a single vote

I think this could help him.

Tim Ryan is using classic populist rethoric, given that Donald Trump a person who embodies the exact opposite of this was the most succesful user of populist rethoric I doubt it's going to work.

It won't work, but he makes a point that should. Though it's undermined by him framing it in an embarrassingly cringey meme format.

Sure Racism this open has gotta hurt him.

Nope, it's gonna help him. This is what Ohioans want.

Exactly. And especially since Republicans are so inconsistent. They'll wag their finger at Biden for the Taliban taking over and what they'll do to the poor women and children of Afghanistan, but them getting refuge here is not our responsibility! Simultaneously, they'll foam at the mouth over efforts to keep children safe from the coronavirus at schools and at women having reproductive rights. Their core motivator is spite above all else.

I just find it hilarious that Mandel spews TPUSA style cringe all day everyday, yet TPUSA endorsed JD Vance (which is a rare based moment from them).

On the other hand, you got Wendy Rogers, who supports auditing Oklahoma, endorsing Mandel (I guess because she thinks Vance is a "RINO" for voting for McMullin instead of Trump in 2016).

People should stop saying OH is unwinnable, OH sn't IA, IA gas 3% Afro Americans and Grassley isn't winning by 20/10pts and the state split it votes between M DeWine and Brown in 2018/ and Ryan is tied and DeWine is winning by 10 again

State has 12% Afro American

Will you eat crow when Mandel or Vance wins by 15?

That will depend on the algorithm.

I just wish endorsements still mattered.
