I was under the impression that Muslims forbade depicting Muhammad's face (or the face of any other prophet) because it's considered a form of iconography. Why, then, do some Muslims react so strongly to the practice? Or is it just because the most high-profile example of Muhammad's face being depicted in the Western media was in an extremely offensive manner?
