Hot take: GOP candidates declare later than usual this cycle, as they wait to see whether Trump runs.

Preparing to run for President is a fairly public process, full of superpacs, dinners, polling etc. If Trump is undecided, I could see some candidates remaining low-key, while they wait for him to make up his mind. If they're all this scared of him, the last thing they'd want is to seem to be trying to steal his thunder/directly opposing him.

If Trump is doing a public 'will-I/won't-I" dance in '22/'23, I can see candidates like Ted Cruz waiting until the mid/back part of 2023 to declare, rather than the start of that year.
