Like I've said before, we should ban everybody that has a username that is "randomwordrandomstringofnumbers".  Shirt8347   Rabbit2321  Apple8264  whatever.  We can make exceptions for the established posters using the format, but Snowguy is the only one I can think of that isn't worthless.  Also exceptions if the number "means" something, like the year of birth, I'm assuming that's what Thunder98 is.  People trying to act cool by putting 420 or 69 are fine as well (hint, it's not cool).  The rest of them should go.

The chance of that happening is dead zero, man.

That was a joke, son; not a burn.

"I deliberately entered a thread full of things that I do not like, and now I am mad. How could this be happening to me?"

You really need to get over yourself. Debating who the “sexiest” female candidate is? Saying Gillibrand would’ve been attractive 10 years ago? Calling Kamala “stiff” and “unlikable”, which I highly doubt would be coming from your mouth if she was a man? Give me a break.

Nonsense. You're a man, and you're plenty unlikable.

I think it’s time for Grandpa to start seriously thinking about moving into a home.

After he stoods down, we must ask John Bercow to become a moderator on the Atlas.

No reason to ruin his reputation.

And "paying attention" means what?  Watching cable news?  Obsessing on Twitter?  It's months before anyone votes.  Do you losers not understand how the real world works?  Of course if you're not watching the news you won't have 20 hours of MSDNC blowing Warren/Biden Sunshine up your ass.  Go outside.  Learn about the world that doesn't involve whining about politics on the computer.
Can you really be telling other people to go outside when you have over 10,000 posts on here?

So, Ilhan Omar voted present. Let's see how her fans defend this.
That only genocides perpetrated by Christians count?

Omar voted present because she did not want to use a literal genocide as a political cudgel. She was right in stating that an appropriate recognition of that genocide by Congress would include a recognition of other genocides, such as the Transatlantic Slave Trade and that of the Native Americans. Simply using the Armenian Genocide to attack Turkey in a political dispute or to rebuke Trump diminishes the significance of that historical event.

I'm proud of Omar for taking the proper stance on the issue, despite the inevitable blowback she would receive from liberals.

Right, yes, because the House gets one (1) chance to acknowledge every genocide that's ever taken place, and a long-overdue acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide now somehow renders Congress incapable of also recognizing other genocides in the future.

Give us a f**king break, JA. You're better than this.

Nobody cares about the Armenian genocide. It’s harsh, but true. The whole vote was a waste of time. Are they going to legislate the victims back to life?

Just going to conclude before I go play some computer games after taking off early for the weekend that it is particularly adorable to see California conservatives b**** and moan about what a horrible socialist it managed hellscape thirst aid is.

California conserva tards - - I hate California! The price of housing is immense. Taxes are high. Democrats have ruined this state!

Everyone else - - ok, the road to Oklahoma or Arkansas is that way. Need help packing?

Conserva tards - - um, well.....

Texas> California

In terms of obesity, people without health insurance coverage, High School Dropout rates, sub proficiency scores in math, science, English, bad highways, executions, oh, and to their advantage fossil fuel deposits. Sure.

On pretty much everything else that matters, except in your eyes electing Republicans to Statewide government, Texas is clearly horribly behind California

I am certainly no defender of Texas, but every cited educational deficiency seems to be made up based on stereotypes. The high school graduation rate is effectively at the upper quartile of US states whereas California is at the lower quartile.

As far as test scores, Texas is considered 'significantly above' the national average for both average and number of proficient students for mathematics and science. California is considered 'significantly below' in both subjects. Both are considered 'significantly below' for English. All subjects seems to have a very obvious north/south divide except for when Texas bucks the trend.

You must be reading a different thread then maybe cuz all I see are people like you whining over how a liberal run economy is an international Dynamo, which blows your own ideology out of the water with reality. I mean, the grumpiness it causes among reaganites like yourself is infectious.

Yeah, those statistics are certainly a newsflash to me. However, why don't you Google US News & World Report, a rather conservative publication, regarding their ranking of State Educational Systems. California ranks an admittedly mediocre 21st a nation, but it's still a damn sight better than Texas's rather Grim 34th in the nation.

I see neither you nor the other poster mentioned the word about other matters such as the horrendous rate of non-coverage of health insurance. Oh, did I even mention the insane prison population rate?

Texas only works because it's sitting on top of mountains a fossil fuels. California is based on Innovation and education which thrives in a liberal environment. At least California's economy doesn't boom or bust along with the price of oil and gas.

Actual Test Scorers and Graduation Rates matter far more than some ranking cause one used actual quantitative data while the others is qualitative

Imagine being a 60 year old British guy from the northeast who has voted Labour his entire life, hates Thatcher with a passion, but looks at Boris and goes “hey I know he went to the most elite school in the country and was born into wealth but he wears his hair in a weird style so yeah I think he’s one of us”
Imagine having such a low opinion to think voters actually are like that.

It was a wrong statement by Trump, and there is no defense for it.  It's one of the worst statements in politics I've ever heard.

The "whataboutism" that people complain about, however, is legitimate.  Jesse Jackson has never refuted his comments about New York being "H----town" in 1984, and Democrats running for President still make their way to his Rainbow PUSH Coalition events to seek his approval, and I don't see anyone here apologizing on behalf of the Democratic Party for the fact that its candidates still make their way to an open anti-Semite.  To this day, Al Sharpton refused to admit he perpetrated a hoax in the Tawana Brawley scandal by supporting false charges of rape against white police officers, and he's an integral part of the MSNBC commentariat.  Not only has no apology been made by either of these folks; no apology is demanded by any of those who are now jumping on Trump.

So, yes, Trump's attack on Mrs. Dingell was hurtful, and deliberately so.  It was an unambiguously crappy thing to do, and something he has no excuse for.  But equally crappy behavior has not been cause for the bulk of Democrats here to not de-legitimize Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson.  (And to say "equally crappy" on the part of Sharpton is charitable; his behavior caused two (2) people to have to defend themselves against Sharpton's false charges.)

Democrats have "gone low" on Trump, but cheered on Eric Holder when he said, "When they go low, we kick them."  This is what that looks like.  Trump ought to dial that back, simply because it's the right thing to do.  He should apologize, simply because it's the right thing to do.  But that standard has not been the one Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (particularly Sharpton) have been held to by those so bent out of shape here.  (Including Badger, but he's put me on ignore, so he'll not find out about this, and won't be able to respond to it.)
Hey Fuzzy don’t think anyone told you this but a key problem in your example is....JESSE JACKSON NEVER BECAME PRESIDENT! (Also fwi he did apologize so do sone simple research next time https://www.nytimes.com/1984/02/27/us/jackson-admits-saying-hymie-and-apologizes-at-a-synagogue.html) Do you not see the glaring issue in whatabouting something the president said with something a person who only got 21% of the primary vote 30+ years ago said when making the argument both sides are bad?

So condemn Jesse Jackson for his antisemitic comments, and his associations with Louis Farrakhan.  Jackson's still a relevant power broker in the here and now in the Democratic Party, and the same can be said for Sharpton.  Do it now; step up to the pump and condemn Jackson's statements.

There's a reason why you can't.

Because about the only people who care about Jackson or Farrakhan these days are Republicans desperate to use whataboutism to defend Trump?

By the way, I've been accused of posting these "Twitter controversies" so that I can push other users into disavowing them.

So let's go back to the original post I made to begin this megathread.

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=347606.msg7078040#msg7078040

No mentions of other users at all.  But the second reply is sawx derailing the thread with his usual avalanche of nasty personal attacks.

Rent free.

Wow!  Makes sense.  Someone paying rent would have a clue about why Bernie Sanders is the guy.

I mean I do and I live rent-free in MacArthur's head ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

General MacArthur... absolutely destroyed here.

The question is ridiculous.

That is like asking "After informing the Atlas forum she was leaving, is Miss Scarletts return the next day a sign of her clear lack of credibility."

It's a loaded question.

Sanders voted against comprehensive immigration reform, and his M4A and Green New Deal proposals are so expensive and far-fetched that they are far less likely to get passed than the plans of other candidates.  Meaning on all three of her issues, Sanders is the least likely candidate to actually enact positive change.

Thank God you're okay. When the results started coming in and you weren't posting, we were thinking of sending someone to check up on you. I feared the worst.

True, the last EPIC-MRA poll taken in 2018 had Stabenow up by 7. Stabenow went on to win by 6.4
