why not just have him run unopposed? If Trump had won reelection, then yes, throw everything you have at him. But otherwise, Texas is too tough a nut to crack - especially since the raw vote margin is second only to tennessee.

"Welcome to real life Lisa. You can't fight City Hall…AKA Blocko-Land Texas. So don't even try!"

The dems need to focus on defending WV, PA, OH, MI, WI and MT. Money that goes to targeting Cruz could be used toward defending those seats.

Why should any money be spent in WV? Manchin's most likely retiring, he'd probably get Blanched even if he ran again on account of the stances he's taken on Trump and his coming participation in a Dem trifecta, even if he holds it up extensively and/or milks tons of pork from it, and there is absolutely zero Democratic bench in the state anymore if he doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if his GOP successor hits 70% come 2024 if it's an open seat.

still - what about those five other seats. Don't engage in political malpractice.

Texas is literally their only pickup opportunity in 2024 and it would be extremely stupid not to try and contest it. It’s as simple as that.
