Is Sneakers O'Toole a good metaphor for Update?

Think about it. Bushie is Sneakers O'Toole. He walks along singing about how he won't take his sneakers off-he won't change his ways. He will do things like he always has.

Then he meets the men who challenge all that. They demand that he take his sneakers off and do things differently. After all his silly method of doing this has never got him anywhere or helped out. But does he? No. And he refuses to do insisting in a very childlike manner. No he will not take his sneakers off. No he will not change his lifestyle. He rushes off. One of the men wants to follow him. But the other points out it's pointless. They won't catch him, they won't get him to change. It's been tried. Many people have insisted that he change and pointed out the consequences of him not and how his way of doing things has never worked out. It has never made a difference.

Sneakers O' Toole continues along singing about how he did not change and he's still Sneakers O' Toole. Bushie is still Bushie. Stubborn and childish as ever, and unchangable, no matter how much evidence piles up that he needs to.

I thought of it while reading that brilliant writeup Bacon King reposted a bit ago. While he predates Update by a couple years, Sneakers O'Toole still serves as just as much of a good standin for Bushie as he does for the homosexual community, al-Qaeda or George W. Bush.
