Kudos on Dems in MI, WI and MN for actually playing to win. It would really be nice to see that spirit at the national level.

Scott Walker also can't read, as it literally said "pursuant to procedures adopted by the supreme court".

Watching the GOP absolutely melt-down when they get the tiniest taste of their own medicine in terms of 'play-to-win' governance is amazing.

This is what I thought actually happened.  The four liberals asked for a meeting for a rules change soon after the May election, and Ziegler just refused to respond time and time again, so they scheduled one on their own to vote on the changes but didnt actually enact any rule changes.   Ziegler is delaying everything as much as possible and put it off until September 7th.

Its more a case of the Dems in the midwest following the GoPs lead on that and indeed in new york when republicans have had some power they didn't immediately try and get abortion bans. When you have actual polarization, this is the result.

Gee that sounds like dereliction of duty, which is an impeachable offense isn’t it?

The last time the GOP actually controlled the NY state government was before this era of polarization. If you're talking about the IDC years, the GOP obviously wasn't driving the agenda, but given its position still punched way above its weight policy-wise. This is not a "both sides" state culture thing: it's Democrats specifically being useless, complacent b*tches in many states they control (and even often at the federal level). Midwestern Dems are a welcome change from this and they should be a model for the party everywhere.

Karl Rove, Paul Ryan and Scott Walker all told Trump to concede, helping the super rich is such a major priority no it's not and furthermore Nixon Appointment of Harry Blackmun to SCOTUS was an olive branch to minorities due to immigrants reform that's s why he won a landslide and Rs aren't winning anti immigratiom reform , my Dad was a Nixon Republican

You opinions are usually the things I say as jokes, but this may be true. Democrats keeping the senate in 2014? Maybe even expand their majority? Democrats likely winning back the house? All this allowing whatever democrat wallops him in 2016 a comfortable majorities in both chambers to pass a “radical socialist agenda”. Sounds pretty alright to me.

The Democrats arent keeping the Senate in 2014 and given that Romney was tailor made for the 2010s GOP house map, the Dems arent winning the House either. Given that Hillary would still be dodged by the email investigation, Romney likely comfortably beats her for reelection too.

2018 yeah Democrats probably do take back both houses but the GOP may have a chance of holding the WH in 2020 depending how Romney handled COVID and getting a historic third term.

Well not really that historic but only the 2nd time it would have happened since 1952.

I think Nathan might have been under the impression that you were saying Romney would be so popular that he'd lead a movement to repeal term limits and be the first President to run for a 3rd term since FDR. Tongue

I’m so glad that large chunks of Walker’s legacy are about to be crushed. He was such a stain on our state. For those of you who don’t live here, this is some of the crap we had to put up with under Walker that really harmed our state:

>Extreme GOP gerrymandering
>Massive cuts to education and a “f**k you” attitude toward government workers
>Cancelling a train from MKE to Madison that was already purchased and all that had to be done was lay the track (the state promptly was sued by the train company and had to pay a $70 million fine for breach of contract)
>Regarding the train situation above, Walker tried to bully Obama’s DOT Secretary into diverting funds to pay for highways. DOT told him to pound sand and cancelled a $100 million grant to redo public transit meaning the state had to pay for it ourselves
>Severely restricting DNR oversight on regulating corporate farms, leading to thousands of peoples private wells becoming contaminated with manure
>Restricting DNR authority to regulate high capacity wells, leading to lakes and rivers in central Wisconsin to go dry (seriously, look up disappearing lakes in Central WI)
>Screwing up WI’s deer hunting by eliminating deer management units, in person Registration, and reducing doe tags on public land to reward private landowners (as a hunter, Walker’s overhaul of the deer herd and listening to the dumbf**k Dr. James Kroll pisses me off to this day).
>Billions of dollars given in corporate welfare to protects that often didn’t pan out (looking at you FoxConn)
>Systematically cutting funding to the city of Milwaukee and instead giving more money to WOW
>Just in general using state power to screw Madison and Milwaukee
>Completely ruining local government in this state by cutting state aid to municipalities to the point they are taking on record debt and passing referendums just to survive
>Right to work
>Eliminated the forestry mill tax (and lots of others) that resulted in new expensive user fees to visit state parks and register cars
>Tying the hands of local governments to enact policies like paid family leave or local minimum wage
>Expanded school vouchers to private schools at the expense of public schools
>Always taking the most partisan power grabs possible instead of cooperating and forging bipartisan cooperation

Screw that guy.

Live in a small town in Ozaukee county now to be closer to the wife’s family since I work from home all but once a month. Had what looked to be a high schooler knock on my door just now asking me to sign a 15 week abortion ban petition.

Told him no and he just left. So they’re running scared and grooming the rural kids.
