They've still got to do it by Saturday though

That gives them time to consider my e-prayer! Cheesy

I think we're just gonna have to wait till tomorrow.
Wait until about 5:30, right before evening news starts. If it doesnt come by then, it aint coming today, which would be a serious trip up by the Obama Campaign. Wasting this much hype (by bad pick or waiting another day) will cause all of this to seriously backfire.

Well, if Obama wants it to be at least 12 pm Hawaii time, he has to wait until 5 pm EST.  Right now it is 11 am in Hawaii.

What's so magical about 12pm?

Ummm....duh. Its.....after......11....?

Oh, by the way, Gibbs said in a FOX interview an hour ago that Obama might wait until next Wednesday to announce the VP.  He said it kind of like he didn't mean it though.

For people who don't know, Gibbs is in Obama's tightest inner circle and certainly knows who Obama has chosen (along with Axelrod and Plouffe).
It'd be time to go with the Jesse Jackson Plan at that point. Tongue

No idea.  Whether this is even an Obama plane being used to pick up Biden is of course pure speculation.  All we know is that this is the only flight in the air between Chicago and Delaware, and it's a charter flight.

If I wasted 4 hours for this, I will be very pissed off at Obama.
You wont be the only one, I assure you.

I didn't know about it until 2:30 when I heard it on Rush, and I was driving then.  I signed up on BO's website around 3:30
Heard it on Rush? *shivers* Wink

Haha, body doubles?

Late Friday, several officials said the text message announcement would be distributed Saturday morning, a few hours before a scheduled rally at the Old State Capitol in Springfield, Ill., where the Democratic ticket would appear for the first time.

Saturday morning text message?  Ugh.

If true, a lot of hung over people are going to be woken up on the West Coast.  "A few hours before noon" Chicago-time = Sad
Well, that sucks. Still, we'll know well before that because of some sort of dumb leak.

How is this not idiotic on Obama's part?  He's totally killing the hype of the VP because people have been waiting so long thinking its going to come any minute for the past week.  Now when it finally does come, its just going to be like, "Hmm, that's interesting." and then move on
Oh this is idiotic on Obama's part. I was fixing his grammar. Smiley

I can't quite work out whether this delay is a stroke of genius or an awful, hubris-born error.

You guys are great!  No, seriously.  The only reason I'm even watching this on the Atlas is because I've been waiting for a chance to do laundry since noon.  I'm having trouble getting excited, and look how many freaking posts I have.

"Awful...error."  "Obama blew it."  How many permanent polling points did he just miss out on?  Five?  Ten?  Has his campaign died because he misses one day of non-questioning coverage?  No, sorry--because of a 24-hour delay, and potential slight smothering in the folds of the news cycle.

Meanwhile, America is mostly trying to decide between Burger King and McDonald's, and ready to set in for a weekend of pretending they already knew who Joe Biden/Evan Bayh/whoever was.  Is it a screw-up relative to what could have been?  Maybe.  And I guess in that sense he "blew it," but let's not seriously pretend we'll be thinking about this in a month.

That said, I'm 70% sure it's Biden.
I'll agree with your assessment of Biden, but he is an unexciting candidate and a potential loose cannon.  Bad move all the way around; we see if McCain can do better.
Not a task of incredible difficulty.

Exactly... unless Obama announces in an hour, this is a huge bust.
Even if he does, if its Biden, its still mega anti-climax. That is painfully obvious even now, let alone 12 hours ago.

What's up with your hate of Biden? As long as he doesn't make a gaffe till November, he is an excellent choice who helps Obama with older democrats.
.....No, I mean if its Biden theres no point of hiding cause everyone is already sure it is him. I do hate him though.

Why?
I dont trust him to not gaffe......on the trail or in international work. I dont think he brings anything really, so Id be more mad at Obama than Biden.

You'd rather have Bayh?
By quite a bit, he looks and acts more professional and is more centrist, and at least Indiana might matter, PA and DE were most likely in the bag already.

And what do Bayh or Kaine bring? Bayh will certainly not swing Indiana enough to bring it to Obama's column and Kaine will reinforce the inexperienced tag on Obama. Kaine could help secure VA but could end up losing some other critical states for us. I think Hillary would be the best choice to win the election but she would be a poor VP. Way too much conflict with Bill and Hill running around the white house.
I never really wanted Kaine for that exact reason. Bayh has a nationwide appeal really, brings youth and experience with a centrist message.
