All of the above. I don't believe that government should be regulating what people put into their own bodies.

Alcohol, Tobacco only. I'm very conservative on drugs and I only used alcohol, not to the level to be drunk, far of that.

Just curious, who here has done any of these drugs?

probably almost everyone?
Yea, this forum is filled with a lot of idiots

including you and me, of course. Note that alcohol is listed as "one of those drugs".

I'd like to see the drinking age lowered to 18.

I've used alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, shrooms and salvia. i would like to one day try lsd, mescaline and ecstasy. i would never do any hard drugs, however...

i've never understood the hatred and fear of drugs such as shrooms and lsd... they are far less dangerous and far less addictive than tobacco, yet even on this forum (which i overall consider a fairly liberal forum), many think they should still be illegal, including those who think tobacco should be legal. i don't think i'll EVER understand that...

Basically, if it can be grown or simply derived from a grown product it should be legal simply because we'll never be able to do anything with prohibition except make gangsters rich and ensure full employment for cops and prison guards.

I favor keeping pot illegal, but with minor penalties for use, like a fine. I don't want it sold at convenience stores.

you prefer it to be laced with cocaine and sold in high school bathrooms?

all that prohibition serves to do is create a more dangerous market.

I think barbituates should be legal because if people could use them freely it'd make me look a lot better by comparison.
Well it's a dream...

I'd illegalize heroin, cocaine, crack, tobacco, amphetamines, barbituates, meth, and ectasy. All are highly addictive and/or highly dangerous. I'd legalize alcohol, LSD, shrooms, marijuana, salvia, and mescaline.

banning tobacco is impossible and undesirable and illogical.

I agree with Jake. Though there's no point in making tobacco illegal if the rest is legal, since there'd be no reason anyone would do it. Why would rebellious high schoolers smoke tobacco when they could just do pot instead and get it easier? I'd like to see tobacco subjected to Sweden-like restrictions though.

the illegality of marijuana is much of what contributes to its rebel stigma in the first place.  if the legal situation of the two were to be reversed, their roles could, as well, at least to a degree.  not to mention the millions of existing nicotine addicts that would much prefer the black market to withdrawal.

I understand in Sweden no form of tobacco advertising is allowed at all and it can't even be publicly displayed in places minors can access (so basically if it's sold at gas stations and the like it has to be locked behind the counter and not visible)

Why not marijuana?

I always ask this, but when there has been proof time and time again that is less dangerous physically and psychologically than alcohol and tobacco, I must ask again. Especially to those who are otherwise fairly liberal socially... it just personally makes no sense to me.

That's a good list except perhaps I would flip MDMA.  I wonder how much of the addictiveness of ecstasy tablets has to do with the adulterated stimulants added to them.

MDMA in itself is not addictive. The only deaths reported from PURE MDMA usage came from dehydration because people were dancing at the club too much. However, it is very difficult to find pure MDMA these days. MDMA should be legal. The tablets, however, are very unpredictable and scary, and each one is different. No one knows whats in most of them... quite a disturbing thought.
