Why does living in an apartment increase your value as a potential voter?
Because so very, very few apartment dwellers even bother to register, and even fewer to vote. Smiley

Big deal, President Taylor never voted, and I would rank him as one of the best of the Presidents between Jackson and Lincoln.

There's a lot of room between Jackson and the dictator.

Taylor was completely incompetent.  It took Fillmore to approve the Compromise of 1850.  Polk was undeniably the best president between Jackson and Lincoln, and Clay was the best president that never was.

Returning to the argument, this seems like it will not hurt Swann, but once again I still don't see why he should be elected as Pennsylvania governor.  Half the reason he's popular seems to be based on a continuation of Steelers euphoria.  Other than abortion, he doesn't seem to have articulated his position on any of the issues.

Taylor saw the Compromise of 1850 as what it was, simply a sell out to the slave holding minority. He knew we would just limp along until a Civil War. He would have lead his own army and hung every secessionist by the nearest tree. That is how you take care of traitors.

In Germany these records are destroyed as soon as the period for challenges is up, to keep this info as secret as possible.

Good thing too. Otherwise the parties'd know exactly who votes every time and who never votes and which people turn out only at important elections - and would mail those poor sods to death.

What is wrong with focusing your effort on those most likely to vote?  It may be too expensive for local candidates to use TV or radio ads in Houston given that the relevant share of the audience (those who live in a particular district) might be 2 to 5% of the total audience.  A mailout to voters in the district, or better yet those who are most likely to vote can be more cost effective.

Most people would prefer not to be junkmailed by any parties they don't see in a positive light. Actually, most people would prefer not to be junkmailed at all, by anybody.
