If I was enough of a moral criminal to get elected to Congress, then I suspect that I'd cravenly vote in the general direction that the loudest of my constitutions indicated that they support. Unless I have a very, very safe seat. In which case, I'd play the greasy-pole game and try to earn brownie points from my party leadership.

But I'm not. And as it happens, I don't know whether I support it or not; I'm honest enough to admit that I don't know enough about banking and so on to know what (if anything) is necessary to stave off disaster. And, well, most of the arguments for and against seem to be dominated by scare-mongering and bandwaggoning of one form or another.
This, basically. Although in very vague, uninformed, general terms, I'm for FAR more oversight and against throwing money at the scoundrels.
