Pushing an impeachment resolution before the conclusion of Mueller's investigation makes it look blatantly political and hurts the case of any similar resolution in the future.

Absolutely.
Let Mueller finish his investigation. Stop with all the stupid distractions (on both sides).
Let the man finish ! He is doing everything in a professional manner, we don't need "clownish" acts mudding things up.

Agree. Jumping the gun will only let Republicans conflate an impeachment attempt of Trump after genuine crimes are revealed with the bogus one earlier. Be patient and let Mueller finish his job.

While I certainly hope that Mueller's investigation nails Trump's scalp to the proverbial wall, and agree that politically it's very unlikely to succeed, I still can't bring myself to oppose this.

Let the politicians currently in office violate their own oaths by refusing to remove a man who has defecated on the Constitution and traditions of our Republic. Get Trump's violations of the Emoluments Clause out in the bright light where everyone is forced to acknowledge it.

We cannot let fear of deplorables being deplorable stop us from doing what is right. Trump could be raping schoolgirls like Moore did and the GOP would still not impeach him. He could be genetically and cryptographically proven to be a Russian deep-cover mole who handed our nuclear secrets to the Kremlin and they'd still whine that impeachment was political.

This is a bad move because it's a move that will make Democrats look weak, chaotic, and divided. There's an old saying to the effect of "If you go after the king, you'd best not miss." Democrats aren't in the majority and have no choice but to miss here. Impeachment will still be pointless in 2019 if Dems are in the majority, but at least then they could make it out of the House. Here, it'll be laughed off and Green will look like a moron.

Republicans will call for a motion to table (kill) if Green actually goes through with this. Such a motion is expected to pass. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/12/05/al-green-impeach-trump-house-vote-281132

What was it Napoléon said? “Tomorrow we will be either at the palace or at the guillotine. There is no in between.” Let me assure the Democrats: this is a guaranteed guillotine.

Something like this:

Yes Votes - % Chance of occuring

0-45 - 45%
46-90 - 35%
91-144 - 10%
145-174 - 7%
175-194 - 3%
195+ - <1%

I guess we're living in the 35% currently.

Not cool to try and impeach a President, regardless of how you feel about them.

As I said back during Obama, talk of any Presidential impeachment is ridiculous.

I don't understand why Democrats don't prepare impeachment. Or bills to create it.

You cannot impeach someone just because you disagree with their policies. This is why I roll my eyes at stupid conservatives who say "Impeach Obama!" No matter how much you disagree, no laws were broken. We have to stop this already.

Unless, you know, the President is actually guilty of high crimes or misdemeanors.

Well I think this might hurt Tim waltz.
If the voters in Minnesota 1 had known that he would impeach a president since he doesn’t like him he would have lost last election.

Trump has admitted to Obstruction of Justice twice and has not been charged. I guess he is above the law.

Lol. Support for impeachment is at like 49% nationally. Then there's people like me who oppose it for other reasons (Pence being worse, and it being politically foolish to do so).
It’s probably at 30% nation wide I doubt 50% if Americans want trump impeached.

Yep. I'm planning on spending a lot of time trying to get Dems to win in 2018, but even more I would love to see DeGette primaried and will work as hard as I can to make that happen. (Not voting for her in the general if we can't get rid of her will be guilt free, because if it's a very safe seat.)

Huh. Do you really want a Congress representative of the people on most issues?
