Wow. I'll say this, just slightly tongue-in-cheek: GOTV week and the weekend of the election is going to be worse then you think. RL stress won't compare. You get a lot of alcohol and coffee, check names off a piece of paper, color code it, and send a hell of a lot of PMs. You'll need to max out capacity in your inbox and outbox over the weekend, easily. That's scaring up ghost votes, zombie votes, and anything you can possibly get. If there's a guy somewhere who meets the voting criteria by two days and one post and hasn't posted in a month, you find him and PM him fifty times with threats, bribes, etc. Your eyes will be bleeding Sunday night when it's all in the books. Worse than grad school.

If I actually make it to an election it's going to to be too damn much for me. I'm going to hire someone to do it. In RL or on here. Smiley As in, I'll send them a case of beer. Wink But wait a minute: on here half the people aren't old enough. Maybe a video game, then. If I win.

Hey, some of us still use typewriters! Tongue

No, I hope not.

Incidentally, as I'm preparing to complete a big RL project I asked an old guy I've known for a while what in the world people did back in the '60s and '70s because, of course, computers make it just so easy to edit large documents. Well, he said you handwrote everything and then typed it, which might render it nearly impossible to read with stuff scratched out, eraser marks making holes in the paper, lines drawn, stuff blacked out, etc. Wow. No thanks. Not fun. Didn't do the typewriter thing because when I was a kid we didn't have all the cell phones and the Internet, but we could prepare a document on something that today would technically be considered a computer. A relic worthy of a tech museum, but a computer technically.
