Was there any chance it would be anything but that. Sophisticated, cosmopolitan liberals don't want to share their coalition with smelly poor people.

To seriously answer your question, though, I think Bernie helped the elite progs I know just a little bit. Then again Trump winning caused them to backslide just a little bit, so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm just being a bit too cynical. The best we can hope for is that these next four years will go by quick, and that the Democratic nominee will be bit more willing to maintain the coalition.
