What is the situation around the sham trial of Ekrem İmamoğlu for insults to AKP officials? The last I'd heard was that he had received a suspended sentence of 2+ years and a lifetime political ban, yet he's just been reelected for 5 years, positioning him perfectly for a 2028 run.

Have government prosecutors dropped their case against him? Unexpected in such an authoritarian regime.
