the Wal Mart shoppers live to give us green banana, and that's fine, better to give a customer a slightly under ripe fruit than a slightly over ripe fruit.  But as for eating them goes, I much prefer a slightly passed it's prime 'nana to one that isn't quite finished yet.  How's about you?

I like the environment and my pocketbook, so I don't buy organic which is bad for both.

I prefer the less sweet flavor of the slightly underripe banana.

The real banana esters including isoamyl acetate don't materialise in the taste until the banana starts going soft

So depending on the menu, you can use brown bananas in smoothies for a really delicious ice cream-milk drink.

There are no bad foods. Just bad chefs.

Green for texture/color, brown for flavor/micronutrients. (Voted brown without checking poll)

Artificial banana flavored candy is based on the Gros Michel cultivar, which I’ve probably never had because it hasn’t been commercially grown since the mid-20th century.

Brown bananas for banana bread but yellow bananas and maybe some slightly green ones.

The only time I eat bananas is if I am having stomach issues. But in that rare circumstance I will take a slightly under-ripe banana to an overripe one any day. They are more tolerable for me to eat since overall I find bananas unpleasant.

I absolutely hate brown (more than ripe) bananas, and will not eat them.
They must be slightly green. I will even eat them moderately green, where it is somewhat tough to remove the peel.

The folks clicking green I find honestly perplexing. Yinz guys know that they taste better when they're a smidge overripe, right?

Probably slightly past prime.  But, thanks for reminding me that Costa Rican bananas are the best I've had in my life two days before I go there for the first time since 2010!

Interesting question. I prefer slightly green, also for self-made banana milk.

This is my position, but I inevitably end up leaving one or two out too long so buying slightly green bananas is a tactical decision for me.

People who eat green bananas shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

less than 4% of us don't eat banana, I would have figured the number to be higher.
