Thornhill is now looking very close again. I think that based on its geographical polarization, it might seesaw around a bit.

Underestimating governing parties perhaps? I don't know, I'm just imagining since I don't recall much of FR's polls in August outside Ottawa South.

Methinks those early NF polls were from rural NOTL--where else, given the climate, wouldthe NDP be dancing w/3rd place.  (In rural Fort Erie, the Grits would be much further back.)

They weren't that bad outside of Ottawa South

Tories now ahead in Thornhill, NF still an 8-ish NDP lead.

Oh, you're looking at %'s. This point in the game, I prefer to look at the raw numbers. Gates is ahead by over 1100 votes.

Feeling good about Thornhill now. NF looks slightly closer than Forum had it, but probably still a Dipper win.

NF is frustrating. A little more effort or OLP bleeding another way... but I'll take a solid Thornhill win. Plus we all hate Gritdom, right? Tongue

When instead we should be concerned about Hudak's coming reign of terror, alas.

The problem with Thornhill is that what happens in Thornhill stays in Thornhill.

So, does Horwath finally pull the trigger? Or a full-term minority parliament, which seems absurd.

What's absurd is than parties are too petty to agree on things.

In other news, the top Google hit when I type in "Thornhill" is a car dealership in Chapmanville, West Virginia. I guess the algorithms haven't found too many people searching about the 905 from the American midwest Tongue.

Glad to have you with us. Tongue

Hudak may beat Wynne to the podium, expected there in about 5 minutes.

Hudak claims victory, saying ON wants change but noting the meaningless stat that PCs led the combined PV 42/30/24 (H/T Coyne on the #).

Half the cabinet is there with Wynne. Guess that $100 million didn't pan out.

John Turmel is running in Thornhill under the party label "Paupers".
After tonight

He holds the Guinness Book of Records holds  for most elections contested (80) and lost (79). One by-election was pre-empted.

Wynne calls it a disappointing night but vows Grits will retake it, suggests these were only "skirmishes."

I saw that. Most irrelevant stat of the night.
