It has a socialist soul.  It has an identity politics soul.
lets think of some people in your party...

trump, Lee Atwater

trump does racial dog whistling about immigration in almost all of his rally.

atwater used the same strategy to flip southern whites. of course, you could say it wasn't successful I guess, but he attempted

It's best to ignore anything the guy who wanted a pedo in the United States Senate says.

Just what do you claim are the perimeters of this fight  for the soul of the New York Democratic Party.

As an outsider I set out my view of that soul. I am sure you do not like,my view.  Tell me your view.

Tell me how you pay for Bernie care.

Explain your views of open borders.

Do you really believe in the government owning businesses.  Will you have the government own Wal-mart?  What about internet related companies? What about Amazon?

Do you think the socially liberal corporate leaders of your party would agree to the government owning businesses?

Just what should constitute the soul of the Democratic Party?

Why is the right to terminate life such a part of that soul?

I don't support any of those things outside of single payer health care that'd be funded by payroll taxes and the saving come from lower drug prices and no incentive for insurance companies to make profit). Open borders was and would be a disaster, government should not own every business there is, and I'm against euthanasia.

As for this Democratic party fight, it's a showdown establishment Clinton-style politics vs anti-establishment populist win who are more left economically and to a lesser extent socially (though for special interest reasons it's easier for the more establishment wing to move left on social issues than economic ones).
So you disagree with Ocasio-Cortez on everything except health care?

Do you really think the Ocasio-Cortez economicprogram can sell in the Midwest and South? Sen Duckworth thinks not.

Ocasio-Cortez is for open borders.

I do not think the tax program for single payer will work out as easy-ally as  you think.

Oscacio-Cortez is a congressional candidate in the bronx, not the leader of the Democratic party.

Yeah, this. Arkansas Yankee you have a weird fascination with her, she’s one candidate in one district.
