Pretty sure you'd quickly get your a$$ kicked for wearing that in Memphis. Even if you're a girl.

What if it was Halloween?
It's be ok if you are under the age of seven or so.

Well it's an adult-sized hoodie....

Memphis sounds pretty awful if this is true.
We do have several SciFi/Fantasy/whatever Cons every year where it would not be abnormal at all. I wouldn't recommend walking down the street in one though. Not that people walk down the street much anyway.

One of the two main ghettos in Minneapolis is between me and Target, so I go through there all the time. There's always people on the street and having fun. People in Memphis are either wusses or it's just awful overall.
Memphis is just not very walkable. You invariably need a car to get from here to there. I do walk every now and then but it's just for recreation. I find it relaxing and often can't sit still. You do see poors, usually but not always blacks, waiting for a bus on a major street. But they're a tough crowd and I guarantee you they are not going to be wearing a Pokeman hoodie.

Memphis is seriously less walkable than Minneapolis in February?
Your winters and our summers cancel each other out. Both are intolerable. More to the point, Minneapolis has about 7k people/sq mi. Memphis has about 2k people/sq  mi. That makes a difference.

Whoa, I never knew Memphis was that low density. So maybe that's why it doesn't have many white liberals (there's only one noticeable Democratic white area in Memphis, which I'm guessing is downtown, it basically sits surrounded by black areas on three sides and a bunch of white Republicans to the east.)
Nope. You're looking at Midtown. Downtown is all the way at the Western edge of town, along the Mississippi River. And don't forget that municipal Memphis includes tons of areas that would be suburbs in most metros. We're constantly annexing new areas, against the will of the people who live there, which is why we haven't seen a population decline on the scale of St. Louis. We're about 70% of Shelby County's population and a clear majority of the metro, even though the Census includes some far flung counties.  For more info: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=168544

Wow, is law school really that full of douchebags? What about university hoodies? Any type of school being against hoodies is pretty weird just because of how prevalent university hoodies are...

That's an American thing.
Are you attending school in another country?
