He's Mayor of London, rightly or wrongly voters might blame him too.

Housing is a matter for the borough councils, not the Mayor.

I hope enough people knows the difference.

The electoral calendar helps. London borough councils are up next year, Khan in 2020.

No, rather, someone does. The "Comment is Free" section is an opinion zone, not endorsed by the Guardian. Some written by journalists, some by politicians, some by random people who applied and where selected.

Jared O'Mara (Labour MP for Sheffield Hallam) hasn't now voted in the Commons since 18 October (since sexual allegations came to surface). That's more then 25 consecutive missing votes.

Why not resign.... and call a by election....

he was on the committee for women's equality. irony is ruthless.

Not women's equality. Women AND Equality (which includes disabled people, like him).

By-election in West Tyrone as the SF MP resigned over a video where he's balancing a bread loaf on his head, which is apparently a reference to an IRA attack.

Kensington is full of empty houses belonging to Russian friends of Putin.

Bad article. He's a ministerand he was 30 minutes and missed a question he was scheduled to answer, which is an issue. He was also resigning from the minister post, not as a Lord.
In any way, May refused his resignation and even Labour said his resignation wasn't needed.

Even if he were a bigot who's "spreading his hate" why should that be illegal? Hate is an emotion. You can't criminalize emotions.

So, calling to kill all Muslisms should be legal?

Jared O'Mara MP (Sheffield Hallam, so my MP) has resigned from the Labour Party, only a few days after he was re-admitted having been suspended last autumn.

I have the feeling that he's going to randomly resign within the next year or so; yet to make his maiden speech, and will now face what is going to no doubt be a single term in Parliament, as Labour will select a new candidate, who will most likely lose to the Liberal Democrats.

Such a shame that Oliver Coppard didn't win for Labour in 2015.

If O'Mara resigns, is Clegg likely to be the LibDem candidate?

No, Liberal Democrats selected their candidate for that months ago (it's one of the local councillors).

^^ of course there are a lot of poor people in London, and not just ethnic minorities, white people as well, particularly in the east of London and north of Hampstead.
But you also can't deny the overwhelming majority of the top 10% live in London and the commuter towns and cities around London (Wandsworth, Chelsea, Hampstead, Richmond park, Buckinghamshire Herefordshire, Surrey, Berkshire, etc) .

In Germany, they redistribute extensively from the wealthiest states to the poorest states,
I wish we had a similar system in the UK ....

So we just fyck the poor of london. Roll Eyes

Wouldn't work in UK, as regions don't have governments and unlike Germany and Canada, local authorities main income is central government grants.
