Even if Conservatives maintain a small majority, May is done. She called for a vanity election and completely blew it.

Thanks Jezza.

Labour is outperforming YouGov's model in both Sunderland and Newcastle by 3%.

Stephen Bush says the results are matching up with the YouGov model and not exit poll.

That's what I said. All the signs so far show the exit poll is accurate.

Nate Cohn: "The early U.K. results look nothing like the exit poll, but they do look quite a bit like YouGov, which also showed Labour doing well."

Labour hold Newcastle North, but another small swing to the Tories.

Think a lot of these Tory/Labour swings have to do with the UKIP vote basically collapsing.

So what are our takeaways from this?

Mine are:

1. Hubris is still as powerful a force in human affairs as ever.
2. Muh fundamentals are overrated. Campaigns matter.

3. Directly stating left-wing values is more effective than standing for some vague reasonableness.

-The fact that an election that's supposed to be a sort of victory for Labour might end up with the UK having Boris Johnson as the next prime minister is glorious.

They're gonna put in that overcooked burrito and Labour's gonna win a majority in six months.

If there is a second election in the autumn, who is favored to win? Well, of course, as we see, everything can change, but who starts out with a better shot to win a majority?

Probably Labour. The Tories would be coming in as a divided party that just blew an election, whereas Labour will most likely be unified behind Corbyn.
