As I pointed out before, DeSantis doesn't have a key issue that can be leveraged to separate him from the base. Furthermore, a story has not come out about him shutting down a bridge in Miami to get back at a political opponent.
He's also lucky in that the liberal media hates him, and they're clearly preparing to start saying that he's worse than Trump the same way they started saying that Trump was worse than Bush.
The biggest risk to DeSantis would be if the liberal and leftwing media started portraying him as this man who could save the GOP. That would sink him immediately because their primaries are driven by a lot of spite.
