I still think retiring Congressman George Holding would be the better option.

Anyways Burr was a Congressman before he ran for Senate in 2004 defeating Erskine Bowles.

Strong chance North Carolina will have another former Congressman moving into the Senate.

Yea, Holding is the better option, but he is less likely to run and less likely to win a primary. Western NC Republicans typically win primaries and Walker is closer to the base then Holding as well.

It is also worth noting that Burr is from NC-05 (Mount Airy to be exact), which is right next to Walker's old district so they come from about the same area regionally.

Talked about being controlled. If Trump spawn is the future then the GOP doesn't have a future.

If Lara gets the nomination, I just might go to North Carolina to campaign for Jackson.
If you do that you'll be helping the socialists get power...

The Trump family has single handedly pushed this country closer to socialism than anyone else except maybe the Koch Brothers.

So I heard that Burr got censured as well, not that it directly impacts this race though obviously Graham seems to think it does/will. Of course my hatred for the NC GOP has been well established for years, so it is hard to get even more angry towards them at this point.

In our defense, SirWoodbury's continued presence on this forum is a mass personal attack on all of our brain cells.

The chair informs the Senator that the rules do care...

Sorry, felt like an Al Gore moment was appropriate. Tongue

Jackson is probably the best chance we have, but I still wonder if running for this seat in a possible Republican year instead of against Tillis in 2020 is the right move for him. It might actually be a wash.

It's not an R yr, it's a neutral cycle and in a Neutral cycle NC goes R

Way to early to be sure of this.

I am sure due to fact that NC went R in 2020 and we won the PVI by 3.1% and NC and OH are wave insurance states

I am referring to the nature of the cycle.

I feel good about NC, GA, AZ, NV, NH and PA that gets us to 52 S and the rest are wave insurance and pretty good about WI and OH that can get is to 54 but Rs underestimate Beasley and we almost won this state it's hilarious, it was a nail bitter with Tillie

I preference to Jeff Jackson but Beasley was the best candidate, she is tied

Fetterman is a slam dunk

I have a theory why Beasley is tied because Cooper has a 55 percent Fav that's why Beasley is doing Good😃😃😃

Tillis is a Charlotte corporate suit, that is why he struggles in general elections. Most of his natural base has been swallowed up by trends and he is a horrible fit for non-college white Trump voters. He is the epitome of the country club.

I expect Budd to perform much better with these kinds of voters.

NC 2014 was insanely expensive.

I expect both sides to be "well funded", beyond the point at which who has more than the other is meaningless.

Beginning to think Walker would have been the best choice.
