Well this campaign went by pretty quick (I guess that's what you get for filing an hour before polls open Smiley). I would like to say thank you to all who supported me. We sent a clear message to Nyman, and when January comes around I will not let you down! In fact, this campaign might have been the first successful write-in House campaign. And I am the first Citizens' Party member in the House! All of this could not be done without your help. Soon, I will open an office which will outline what goals I have for my first few days as Representative. Thank you, and God bless Atlasia!

I'll be posting an update tonight.

Well, this has been a whirlwind of a weekend. The Citizens' Party went from having no slate for the midterms to breaking a record in Atlasian history in only three days! And this could not have happened without you. Now that you have given me a mandate, I must act upon it. And a key part of that is outlining my goals as Representative:

  • Provide a new perspective on issues in the House
  • Draft pieces of legislation that will benefit all Atlasians
  • Remain accountable by issuing weekly/bi-weekly progress reports
  • Take firm stances on issues and vote for the ideals my campaign was founded upon
  • Not hesitate to cooperate and be bipartisan (or quadpartisan, I don't know Smiley)
  • Be present for votes, if not, give a good reason why
  • Take legislative suggestions from constituents

As constituents, you can get involved too. Let me know if you have any concerns and if you would like for me to address them (bill, amendment, etc.). Also, I highly suggest you run for office too! The more perspectives, the better the consensus.

As for the Citizens Party, we were not founded as token opposition to a large supermajority. Instead, we were founded as a credible alternative to the two-party system. And while we only have one seat in the House now, I pledge to provide a visible alternative to the Federalists and Labor thought my house term. This does not mean that I will not cooperate with any party that puts forward a motion to benefit Atlasians. In fact, Citizens was built upon the platform of cooperation. However, I also pledge to scrutinize every bill that comes up for a vote, and I pledge to make sure that the Atlasian people stand to benefit from every bill I vote in favor for or propose. I am part of the Citizens Party for a reason, and that reason is for an alternative.

I would also like to congratulate all of the members who were elected or re-elected, from every caucus. I look forward to working with every one of them. And to those who voted last weekend, I would like to thank you for this historic mandate, and I pledge that I will not let you down! Thank you, and God bless Atlasia!

As some of you may know, Lumine today announced his resignation as Party Chairman of the Citizens Party. After much thought, I decided to run for Chairman. The Citizens Party needs reform for it to grow into its full potential. I believe that if elected Chairman, I, along with my running mate DFL, can deliver this needed reform. Here's my full campaign announcement: https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=275577.msg5967373.

Whether I win the leadership or not, I pledge that I will remain 100% devoted to my responsibilities as Representative, and I will not go back on my promises to you! I will continue to honor the mandate that you elected me for. Thank you, and God bless Atlasia!

Np! If you need help writing congressional bills let me know! I personally have been kicking around an idea to revitalize the Atlasian wiki.

I will. Also, I've thought about that too. That would be a great idea!

It would be! If it needs to be legislated maybe, but I may personally try fixing a couple things. Perhaps the appointment of a wiki administrator would also be good.

Ooooh, that would be a good idea. By the way, how do you get wiki access? I tried to PM Dave a few weeks ago but he never got back with me, and seeing that I'm now Representative-elect, I may need to edit my wiki page.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! This Christmas I'll be taking some time off at home to enjoy the holiday and the nice 20-40 degree weather we have here in Texas right now. Soon after Christmas ends, I will get right back to drafting up some potential legislation for my upcoming House term. Right now, however, I will be involved as a delegate in the Citizens Party Provisional Convention where we hope to define our party's future. If you are a part of the Citizens Party, I implore you to get involved in this convention as our party's future will be decided over the coming days. Otherwise, have a happy and safe holiday season, and God bless Atlasia!

Now with under six hours until 2018 starts, all of Atlasia is ready to ring in the New Year. All I ask of my future constituents is to have a safe holiday and to keep your festivities inside if at all possible -- the weather is dangerously cold in 2/3 of the nation, from north Florida to Minnesota, and Maine to Texas.

While I have been registered in Atlasia since October, I haven't really had much experience in our great nation since mid-December, so I don't have much to reflect on as we head into this new year. However, I hope that we will all be able to achieve something great this next year! I wish you all a happy New Year, thank you all, and God bless Atlasia!

Hello! I realize it's been a while since I posted my last update, but this has been since I've been busy debating the Make Atlasia Debate Again Act, which will help bring debate back to Atlasia on a regular schedule, and I've been drafting more laws which I plan to soon propose.

In addition, I have been nominated for the position of National Archivist by the President, and I want to thank her for this opportunity. If confirmed, I will still make sure to fulfill my duties as Representative while I will help to maintain and update the wiki.

Thank you, and God bless Atlasia.

Office of
Representative Wxtransit

April 28, 2018

It's been too long since I made my last update here, so I have quite a bit to talk about.

First, I'd like to thank all who came out and voted for me last weekend! Our movement has grown even stronger through this, and I can't wait to see what we can do together in the coming months. I couldn't have done any of this without you, so I believe the first place to start is to reiterate my campaign promise to keep this office open and active. Feel free to ask me any questions about anything here.

Second, as some of you may have seen, I have been quite inactive over the past week. I'm entering a very busy period in my RL life, so I'm only able to pop off and on about once a day or less. This will likely continue for the coming few weeks, so for the Post-Obama game, this means I'll likely only be able to post turns on the weekends, and for my Senate term, I'll likely only have the time to vote on bills and propose a few. You can still reach me through PM and Discord, but I likely won't respond as quickly as before. I'll be able to return to my normal active time around the end of May.

Third, I've been quietly editing all your requests that you've made on my National Archivist thread, and I'll probably be finished by the end of the weekend.

Thank you for entrusting me with these past two terms in the House, and I can't wait to see what we can do for Fremont in my Senate term. God bless!

Well, those two terms went by like a flash. It was my honor to serve as your Representative, and for us to be able to accomplish much in the fields of reform for Atlasia and Fremont.

But even though I have now left my post as Representative, and swore in today as Senator, this does not mean my resolve to ensure that Fremontians and Atlasians will continue to prosper has wavered. In fact, with my more regional focus on Fremont, I'm able to even further strengthen this cause and continue to uphold the five core pillars of Alliance and of every pledge I made on the campaign trail in my new capacity as Senator.

These last four months have been great, but let's make these next four even greater.

Thank you, and God bless Atlasia.

Just so this doesn't get trapped at the top of the page in my National Archivist thread, I'm re-posting this here:
Open Applications (since it seems this is a thing now)

I'm going to be doing some changes here, partially based on some ideas I had and some suggestions from President-elect Yankee and Vern (thank you!). It's fairly obvious I myself do not have enough time in the day to update bills for both chambers and the regions, updating elections, and updating per all the requests on this page (as some of you may notice per my contributions, I'm more personally inclined to expanding formatting and design along with elections information). However, I feel it is also a disservice to all of those using the wiki for these sections to be left not updated for weeks, even months at a time. For this reason, I've decided to take applications for those who are very interested/already editing the wiki and would like to help me in an official capacity.

I'll be appointing deputies who will be individually tasked with a certain project (ex. keeping the statute updated) so whoever I appoint won't be overloaded. Additionally, I'll likely still be involved with a significant portion of these categories, as while I'll be transitioning to a more oversight capacity, I'll still take requests here and try and keep the statute updated when I can.

PM me if you're interested!

For the past few days, I've been thinking about the future, and what I plan to do here in the next few months. First and foremost, I'd like you, as Fremontians and my constituents, to give your input as to these plans, as this will likely directly affect you. To get straight to the point, I'm openly considering re-election to this office, running for a seat in your House of Representatives, or possibly a run for First Minister of this great region. As is likely apparent by the nature of this update, I'm not sure as to what I'm going to do. Whatever I do, however, I want it to be in the best interests of Fremont, and this is the reason I am coming to all of you about this. Hopefully, I'll have made a decision within the next few weeks Tongue

Thank you, and God bless Fremont and Atlasia.

After some discussion with some close friends and other Fremontians and Atlasians, I have decided that my best course of action will be to pursue a third, non-consecutive term in the House through a write-in campaign. I've decided to run not only because I feel like there is a lot of great talent in Fremont and I don't want to hold this seat from any who wish to try their hand at the Senate, but also, I feel like the House could use an fresh independent voice who will not be afraid to pursue reform and maintain a strong activity level in the chamber. I'll be making a campaign thread when we get closer to the election, though I felt it was best to announce this now. If any of you have questions, feel free to ask them here for the time being or PM me.

Thank you, and God bless Fremont and Atlasia.

Well, this is not the speech I imagined myself making this morning.

After a few hours of self-reflection, and my finalization of my next semester's schedule, I feel I cannot remain on Atlasia for at least the duration of my next academic year, starting today. All seven of my classes will be very demanding of my time, and today I've got to start preparing for them. For this reason (and I thoroughly apologize for any inconvenience caused), I have decided to resign the three offices I hold, and leave through either a duel or falling off the rolls (as it appears that voluntary deregistration is not a thing anymore Tongue). For Alliance, I'll start the procedure for an emergency convention as to select the next leader, but I'll be appointing thumb21 on an interim basis, as I can trust him to lead the party as it continues to grow. As for my roles as Senator and National Archivist, I'd like to reiterate that this was extremely unplanned and had I known in advance how demanding my coming weeks would be, I would have given some notice. For those roles, all I ask is that my successors are fit for the job Smiley

As for my House run, well, that's not happening anymore, for obvious reasons, but trust me, I'll be back in the House someday. Tongue

And as for me, well, you'll probably see me poking around Atlas and the Discord (where you can still keep in touch with me) every so often, and I may stay involved in some non-Atlasia stuff here, but not Atlasia as I would get the urge to run for some other office, lol. I'll be back though, if it's not this winter when my first semester is over it'll be next summer, when my second semester is over (and then I may leave again, or I may stay Tongue).

Thank you for this past year which I'll never forget, and God bless Fremont and Atlasia.

Hi guys!

Yep, I'm back. I thought I've been away for long enough and even though I'm busy I might as well become a zombie voter or whatnot again.

Q and A:

Are you back?
Yes.

Will you be running for office?
Not for the forseeable future. I'm very busy with school still.

Will you be running for president?
See above, and why are so many people asking me this question? Tongue

How's it been?
Good.

Are you dying with taking 7 IB classes?
Yes, very much so.

Hi.
Hi to you too.

now I hope I reduced the PM count I'll recieve by at least 20%

Lincoln Speaker Wxtransit

December 4, 2018

dusts off old desk

Well, it sure is good to be back in office again. I can't wait to see what we'll do in the Assembly in this term (and hopefully the next, too), and I hope we will get things back up and running again. I'm also honored to have been elected Speaker today, and I hope that through this role I can help facilitate activity in the Assembly to the best of my ability. Most times you'll see me on in the later hours of the night, just due to the fact that as a principle I get the stuff I need to get done for the day first and then I log in here, to prevent something like my last stunt from happening. Tongue There may be a few days where I simply can't be online due to academics, but I'll notify you all well in advance if I need to take an LOA.

That's pretty much all for now. I'll keep you all posted here for any news and updates from the Assembly. Good night and God bless Lincoln.

The assembly seems to be in hurry to proceed on final vote on legislation. A bill or constritutional amendment has been adopted in less than 48 hours. That is less than the standard 72 hours of debate.

If I understand the assembly procedures, it can cut the 72 hours of debate time by a motion for a final vote.

I don't see the votes for cloture in the threads. The speaker says 24 hours to object, nobody objects and then it goes to a final vote. If the majority of the assembly needs to vote for cloture, shouldn't assemblypersons actually vote?

Also about the amendment process the procedures on the wiki says:

Has the explanation been done ? I see advocacy but no specific formal explanation. Is it requires so it is posted on the ballot with the amendment like an explanation for federal amendment?

You may be right, but to be frankly honest, that version of the SOAP hasn't been updated properly in a very long time, and is missing some key amendments introduced over the years (it even references to the Speaker as the "Northern Speaker", just to establish how outdated the wiki copy is). I have been governing according to the past few Assemblies and general Atlasian parliamentary procedure, as a result. One of the first things I'll be introducing when I get on my break will be an entirely new copy of the SOAP, because of the vast inconsistencies in the rules and procedure.

I have been looking and haven't found that many changes to the SOAP. In March the assembly went with fous slots for legislation. Then in May it was replaced with L 11.3.1 with an unlimited number of legislation on the floor. I think it also allows the assembly to vote to get a proposed legilsation on the floor.

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=291249.0

For many actions like cloture it calls for a majority vote of the assembly. Right now the assembly has proceeded without holding a vote. (and to think it caused problem when someone asked on Discord if the assembly was ready for a vote)

The role of the Speaker is to try and follow the rules. You have been dismissing procedure on the pretense that all has changed.

When asked on Discord, I was informed of far more changes than you have listed here.

And either way, your final claim has no standing, as I certainly made an effort to remedy this after you notified me last week. For example, earlier today, I opened a cloture vote on a bill where I had previously had a motion for a final vote. I incorrectly assumed the procedure of the Assembly given my circumstances (where I had tried to follow the rules), and that was my fault. However, there was certainly no malicious intent here, and that was why I noted that I'll be introducing a new version of the SOAP and updating the wiki accordingly to clear this of ambiguity. There's no need to make assumptions.
