I don't know how to feel about that crazy finish last night (other than anger at myself for going to bed) because Vandy plays Purdue next week.  Either they will come out angry and on a mission or they might just not be that great.  We'll see next week.

Purdue is probably not that great and they'll still crush Vandy.

Fun fact--The Missouri Valley Conference is a really old conference and predates many of the modern conferences.  The Big 8 (now Big 12 with 10 teams) spun out of it long ago.  So, it's kind of a lol reunion weekend for former members Kansas and Iowa St.

I don't keep up with these things like a used, but I just found out that Hugh Freeze resurfaced as the head coach at Liberty.  Sweet Jesus, that must be the worst place on earth.  Also, because of some back injury, he's been coaching from a bed or medical chair in the press box.  WTF.

It would be funny if Kansas won.  Everybody picked BC. Smiley

Let the hilarity begin.

Kentucky shows why you should never have a kicker who's name is "Chance", but they already did some really dumb stuff to blow the game before that.

It's weird watching an LSU team that can throw the ball at will, but has numerous defensive breakdowns.  It's like the Twilight Zone.

I figure Miami is due for embarrassment, this one is kind of a trap game tbh

Good call.  Really shouldn't count against you.

UCLA wins!!! 32 point comeback!!! UCLA wins 67-63

Your QB throws 9 TD passes and still loses.  Only a Mike Leach team could do that.  Great final quarter to watch.

It's the third straight year that Maryland has managed to beat a ranked team to start the season and then proceed to plunge into the abyss,

Tulane @ Army (normally I'd go with Army as a small home underdog, but I think Tulane is definitely the better team.  It feels very weird to type that.)

About once a decade, Tulane has a team that's fun to watch and root for.

A factoid from ESPN's College Game Day that I never realized before: Auburn is the nearest SEC opponent to Florida.  (It's about 35 miles closer to Gainesville than Athens is).

Honestly I would have though Auburn was even closer than that.

Congrats to long suffering Atlasians RINO and Extreme .  I notice that neither game was part of the week's pick 'em, probably prevented them from losing.

At the half, Kansas State leads Oklahoma 24-23.  It's the first time this year that Oklahoma has trailed at the end of any quarter.

I think K-State gonna cover the spread.

KSU is rolling over OU right now. OU looks like they've given up and there are 20 minutes to play.

If OU gets 7 touchdowns in the last 12 minutes, they still could cover the spread.  And they got one in about 16 seconds.

I have never seen a finish to a football game like that way Kansas just won:

Kansas had a potential winning FG blocked in the final seconds of a tie game.  However, while trying to make a return, Texas Tech lateraled with nobody home, and Kansas recovered it with two seconds left.  The kicker got a second chance and made it count.  Kansas pulls the upset, 37-34, giving Les his first Big 12 win.

I was going to say that every underdog won in the Big 12 today, but it turns out TCU was a 1.5 point favorite.

Obvious mistakes I'll count when the intent is clear, but that one has me stumped. Wink

He's clearly predicting a tie, which should count double if he hits on it.

Even though I'm not participating in the pick 'em this year, I just wanted to stop by and brag to everyone that I got good seats for the UGA/UF game in Jax this weekend.

My prediction:

Georgia 24
Florida 17

Well, you win the week

Washington State @ California    Why is Wazzu favored by 7.5?
Cal's offense has fallen off a cliff since Bowers got hurt — they put up 83 yards total against Utah. Utah does have a good defense, but still... 83 yards.

Well, if there was ever a team to rebuild your offense against, it's Washington St  (or a Mike Leach team in general)

Too late to start picking now, but in the only two three games that matter, TCU, Alabama, and Dartmouth.

I don't know if a coach has ever been fired at halftime, but Chad Morris is making Willie Taggart look like a genius.

A little trivia.  Jerry Jones' (Arkansas' #1 alum) grandson is getting his first start at QB today and their opponent's (Western Kentucky) QB is Arkansas' QB from last year's unsuccessful season.  It's 28-7 WKU right now.

Barring a huge comeback, I'm going to have a whole omelette on my face (I'm the only one who picked Arkansas).

Well, WKU scored right before the half to make it 35-7.  WKU went 5-5 on 4th down conversions in the 1st half.

Yeah the Tide rolled the other way something fierce at the end of the first half.  Plus, that should have been targeting.
