Maybe it's me and I'm too lazy to look, but didn't Bushie say he was favoring the new gay marriage laws and he couldn't tell his parents, who would kill him?

Well to defend him here: It is possible to favor state recognition while personally finding it sinful/bad/whatever. I think smoking is terrible too, but I don't want to criminalize it.

[Porn] creates false expectations in a relationship.

In your case, I suggest switching to BBW.

So Bushie is still in the camp that believes homosexuality is a choice? And being gay and a true Christian is not possible?

It's absurd. But it's still preferable to be ignorant and support equal rights than to be ignorant and oppose them.

It's absurd. But it's still preferable to be ignorant and support equal rights than to be ignorant and oppose them.

My only beef with Christians who have this mindset is that their logic is just so way off. They either must be (1) that science is wrong and homosexuality is a choice or (2) God is not perfect and made a mistake when creating homosexuals.

To believe the first is absurd because I have never ever met a gay person that made the "choice" to be homosexual. Whenever a friend has come out to me, they said they had known since they were small children. Either the gays have the world's best coordinated message or 1 is false.

To believe the second choice means you don't believe in the Christian god at all who is supposed to be infallible. If God does not make mistakes and it is proven that being homosexual is something you are born as, then God does not disapprove of homosexuals, because as the Bible says, we are all created in his image and he loves all of us. I have yet to meet a Christian who can explain that one without basically saying science is false.

I think the idea is that Satan is responsible for homosexuality or some noise.

Case in point:  My cousin, the mother of the three nephews and sister-in-law to my Pastor, has turned lesbian.  This saddens my Pastor and his wife, like you wouldn't believe.  They cry every night together crying out to God to bring her out of this destructive lifestyle and back to Himself.  I'm a little more accepting of it, but still not supportive of it.  I still pray that God would bring her out of it.

Then your Pastor and his wife are both losers if they cry every night because your cousin is lesbian. There are millions of people in this world who are more deserving of those tears. I don’t have a god, but if I did I would pray for your cousin too; so that she get’s out of the ‘destructive lifestyle’ that is her family.

They are crying every night because they care more about her soul than they do about any temporary pleasure this lifestyle causes.  They love her so much that they want to get her out of the lifestyle and make sure she has her eternal future secured.  If we didn't love her, we would just let her continue on like she is.  They don't compromise the Bible even an inch even when it comes to their own flesh and blood.  They know the Bible has the Words of Life.  They are approaching her very gently and are letting God sort this all out right now.  We want to help her, but we don't want to push her away, either.

As for my thoughts, i know she is a Christian because she gave her heart to Jesus Christ a few years ago, but has since gone back.  She knows the truth, and she knows her sister, brother-in-law, mother, and me are there for her anytime she needs to talk.  I, personally, treat her lesbian lifestyle as sin, but no more sinful than anything I've done previously on this thread.  I will never endorse her lesbian lifestyle, and I, too, pray for her every night, but I will always love her for who she is and what she means to me.  If she asks me, I will tell her exactly how I feel and exactly what the Bible says, but I will not say anything unless she asks me.
How can anybody read this and tell me religion doesn't make people crazy?

Because assuming that all Christians are like Bushie & friends is the same as assuming that all Tennesseans are like that Campfield guy.

They repeatedly elect him. I suspect he is very much representative of his district. Nothing about Bushie's exploits are particularly unusual either. You think he's the only obese fundie living in his parents' trailer?

This is a bit off topic, but do you guys believe that marrying baby mama is the right course of action in such a circumstance?

Aborting the pregnancy would make more sense.

Do they have condoms in Oklahoma? Or are they considered sinful?

Murdering the baby never makes more sense, especially since this wasn't a rape or incest and the mom's life wasn't in any danger.

Yes, they have condoms.

Please stop with this "Oklahoma is inferior" crap.  It's getting old.

It's such a pity that census and anecdotal evidence says otherwise...

I didn't realize the census measured condom availability. You know someone in Oklahoma that had a hard time finding one?

I don't think Bushie eating bacon and eggs for lunch after whining about a bad tum tum was smart.  Unless the tum tum was an excuse not to walk.

The stomach eased up, but then turned into major stiffness and aches in the back and the joints.  I think its just weather related.  I get this way in cold, damp weather.  It is legitimate, but is nothing to be worried about it.

As for the bacon and eggs, it was either that or go get something.  We seriously don't have much in the house and have not had time to go to Walmart because of having to spend a lot of time with the family.  Mom and I are going to Walmart tomorrow after we take Grandma to eat.  Before we even go to eat, I will be walking another 20-25 minutes.  I took a break for one day from the walking trail, so I hit pause, but I definitely did not hit stop.  I've got four days left this week, so I should be able to walk all four days.  There are thunderstorm chances on Friday, so I'll have to see, but if it is dry in the morning, I'm getting out there and walking because it will be mild.

You don't have any cereal? Granola? Fruit? Nothing?

Not until tomorrow afternoon.  We haven't had a chance to get to Walmart in a few days.  I mean, we have cereal, but no milk.  The fruit we do have is old and we don't do granola.

It the fruit is bad, why don't you throw it out?

Haven't gotten around to it.

Haven't gotten around to it?  It'll take you 30 freaking seconds.

Who cares Inks?  No need to micromanage every detail of Bushie's life.

Because it shows how ridiculously lazy he is.

Your point?

You're starting to cross into the self-exaltation phase.  You don't need to point out every single flaw in my life.  I'm well aware I have so many flaws, but I don't need them pointed out on an hourly basis.

Jeff, rotting fruit is a symbol of your extreme laziness.

You didn't answer my last question.  Why do you insist on throwing stones at every single turn for petty things.  It seems like you are implying that you are somehow better than me.  Have you ever heard of the passage in Matthew about the woman caught in adultery.  Her accusers wanted to stone her in accordance with the law, but Jesus said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."  Or, does that not apply to me?

Except, I don't go around advocating for the destruction of any people group who differs from my point of view.  As I said before, and Franzl said it best, I support same sex marriage, but I still hate same sex relations and I still think its sin.  That doesn't mean I hate them.  I love those who are gay, including my cousin.  Just because I don't agree with them being gay, doesn't mean I don't love them.  In fact, if I did approve of them being gay, then the Bible says I don't love them.  True love always is a reflection of Jesus Christ and His love and pointing everyone I meet to the Father.

Andrew, read my last post in the "Will We Ever Have an Atheist President?" Thread.  It explains what I should have been saying all along, for it encompasses what I believe, but I just couldn't find the words for it.  Then, comment here as I want to discontinue hijacking that thread.

Lazy.  I'm not denying I'm lazy, I just don't like being pestered for every little fallacy I have.

However, walking is on the schedule tomorrow and Friday.  I have to go to Shawnee to pick up my medicine in the morning, but that's the only place I have to go, so there is no reason I cannot and will not get there, unless I get real sick or something which I don't anticipate.  Saturday, I'll be playing in the park with kiddos for three hours, so that will be just as good as walking, if not better, because I'll be running, jumping, playing games and just having a good time with the kids.

You may call it what you will but it does not make it good. I hope your cousin and her children find peace away from her family if you continue to create a psychologically damaging environment for her. She deserves real love.

Andrew, read my last post in the "Will We Ever Have an Atheist President?" Thread.  It explains what I should have been saying all along, for it encompasses what I believe, but I just couldn't find the words for it.  Then, comment here as I want to discontinue hijacking that thread.

You may call it what you will but it does not make it good. I hope your cousin and her children find peace away from her family if you continue to create a psychologically damaging environment for her. She deserves real love.

I tell you something honestly, Andrew.  I disagree quite a bit with my Pastor and his wife when it comes to the issue of homosexuality.  I firmly believe a gay person can accept Christ just as easy as a straight person or a Christian, or a Muslim, Jew, etc.  Just because they are different doesn't mean they are loved any less by our God.  I support same sex marriage, even while I don't like the gay relations, for that very reasons.  If my cousin ever needs anybody to talk to about anything, she knows she can come to me.  She knows I will not judge her, I will love her, and I will keep things confidential unless she specifically gives me permission to tell her sister or even her mother.  She is 24 years old, so she is old enough to make her own decisions.  I am just here as a non-judgmental confidant.  If she asks me what I think, I will tell her and I will not sugarcoat it, but my main purpose is to point her to Christ and point her children to Christ.  The children's father has been coming to church regularly, and while he's had problems of his own, mainly drugs, he is a good role model to them now.  Yet, he does not judge her, nor do I judge her.  I have no place to judge her.  I lie, I take advantage of people, so I have no room to judge her for being gay.

If you walked after, it'd be even better.

Probably true.

There will be no walking today, not because of the weather, but because it appears I'm going to have to stay close to the bathroom.  My stomach is not real happy this morning.  I'll get back out there tomorrow.

Walking may be on the schedule tomorrow and Friday, but it was also allegedly on the schedule today.
