As he should.

Ige was probably going to lose before this, this just seals it.

I, for one, am ready for Flawless Beautiful Colleen Yellow heart

What has Ige done, other than this, that was so bad?

Exist in a seat that Hanabusa thinks is hers, probably.

I guess she didn’t learn from her primary challenge to Schatz.

Yes, women have to learn their place and yield to men.

Oh, please. The sarcasm would be warranted in any other circumstance, but Hanabusa's attempts at higher office have all been based on unabashed entitlement. Gabbard would be more deserving, and I say that as someone who thinks Gabbard is a total phony.

Isn’t that the same for any politician? You just feel that way because she’s a minority woman seeking higher office.

Oh, we're playing this game, are we? Explain to me, then, why I back Vilela and Ortiz-Jones for Congress and why I did the same for Kamala Harris and Donna Edwards last year. Also, this "minority woman" stuff is fine talk coming from someone who I suspect is white.

Let's leave the accusations at the door, shall we? Women and minorities are just as capable of terrible opportunism as the likes of Danny Tarkanian and Martha McSally.

In a bid to cool the temperature in this thread, I'll say this: I fully agree that Ige sucks. He's a dud, just the same as Abercrombie. I just think that there are better candidates - and yes, better female candidates - who might run to replace him. I just don't think Hanabusa will be any better.

So, who’s going to primary Gov. Hanabusa in four years?

Putting money on Flawless Beautiful (TM) Congressman Ing.

Seems like Gabbard is getting in Hanabusa's good graces, if something happens to Hirono she'd be first in line to replace her.

Exactly. Hirono has stage four cancer, and is running for re-election. I wish her the best, but the odds of her serving out another term to completion are reasonably low.

i.e. impossible. It's impolite, but it's also insane to re-elect a 70 year old person with stage four cancer.

Kidney cancer is a different animal from most cancers. So long as it hasn't gone all through the body, it's treatable in basically any stage. As I understand it, Hirono's cancer only spread to a nearby rib, which they removed along with her ruined kidney followed by blasting the whole area with radiation. Her prognosis is actually pretty solid, given the circumstances.
