Hawaii has cancelled the in-person portion of its party-run primary and has sent out another wave of ballots (presumably to people who recently registered or updated their address with the state).

It is unclear exactly what the deadline for getting ballots to the Hawaii Democratic Party is; I am guessing that they must be postmarked by April 4.  As a result, especially given the ranked-choice nature of the balloting, I would not expect especially timely results out of Hawaii next week.

Do we know when exactly Wyoming, Alaska, and Hawaii are going to report results?

Can I ask what impact this will have on the primary prediction contest?

Alaska should report on April 11.

Wyoming has extended its deadline for ballots to be received to April 17; it seems likely they'd report results on Saturday, April 18.

Hawaii has extended their deadline for ballots to be received to May 22(!); their results will be reported on May 23.

Georgia is considering delaying again, from May 19 to June 23.

The DNC should really think about skipping their retarded „penalties“ then.

And accept the new reality that things are pushed back and that they might even delay or cancel their convention if the virus still rages in July ...

The penalties are already optional, & the DNC hasn't even said they'll be implementing them (just that they're still optional).

That leaves just 5 states and one territory in April now.

This keeps Sanders in the race for a much longer time.

This keeps Sanders in the race for a much longer time.

It's kind of a lateral move. It stops Biden from continuing to amass delegates so quickly, but it's not like Sanders can campaign either and do much of anything to be competitive again.

Unfortunately it also provides an excuse for Bernie bros to continue their smear campaign against Biden.

The Texas Democratic Party has switched to an online internet state convention. Ordinarily there would be about 12,000 delegates (much larger than the national convention - they probably could not hold in a smaller city like Milwaukee or Charlotte).

Not really a "delay" as the primary is still set for May 19, but Idaho's primary is now mail only.

It amazes me how all of these "liberal" ideas that would never pass in a million years in a state like Idaho are instantly pushed without debate during an emergency.

Idaho already had absentee voting by mail without cause, and three neighboring states are all mail voting states. It is more of a western idea.

Yeah, vote-by-mail really isn't a "liberal" idea. I'd say it's more quasi-libertarian: it let's you vote when you want and how you want, and let's you access whatever information you need to make an informed decision.

Another good move: less exposure during peak time.
