I mean Roy Moore actually has appeal to some people (far-right christians, which are a big part of Alabama) while Blankenship is a gaffe-prone weak billionaire in a relatively secular, populist state.

I liked Joe Manchin. I still like Joe, but this was the right move from him. Frees up a lot of money that could be better used in MT, OH and elsewhere
