I unironically think that he’d be the strongest GOP candidate.

Think of the margins he’d get in the Philadelphia Collar suburbs, especially against the DSA Shrek lookalike who’s the Democratic front runner. And Youngkin proved that the “MAGA Base doesn’t turn out for *insert candidate*” theory is a load of drivel.

DSA straight up didn’t endorse Fetterman in 2018 because of his stance on fracking

Ok and?

He’s still a DSA adjacent candidate who looks like an uglier and more terrifying version of Shrek, and he’s running in a red wave year against a man who is best suited to get the vote of suburban white women in the Philadelphia collar suburbs.

This is only a rumor I'm personally hearing from GOP insiders I know and trust, but said sources that tell me this are generally pretty reliable. People online are saying this too and certain tabloids are hyping this up, but again- I trust the insider sources, and not the tabloids.

Apparently he could specifically  specifically announce this on Hannity in the next few days. I still wouldn't get too cocky to bet on it, but it honestly seems ever more likely by each passing day.

PS: If this turns out to be a bunch of drivel, all of you have the legal right to mock me.

I'm still shocked that Dr. Oz is a Republican and that he has political ambitions.

He's a very moderate Republican who has been friends with every GOP nominee since Bush, although he has many Democratic friends too. I don't know why he'd have political ambitions, but I can see why he would.

He will also probably receive the Trump endorsement, even if he isn't super Trumpian himself.

Announcing on Hannity rather than Tucker leads me to believe he'll run as a traditional muh economy muh socialism Republican. Ugh, hopefully someone better wins the primary.

He's a suburban Republican.

However, Enes Kanter went on Tucker recently and he is hardly a populist national conservative. You overestimate the political implications of someone appearing on a certain news anchor's show.

I wouldn't be surprised if he and Trump had connections from his time in reality TV.

You won't be surprised any time soon, because they do.

Ok, I could see him running justifying a ratings change. Dr. Oz would have a good chance at really bringing in the star power that could swing votes here.

He could be a strong candidate, but I've literally never heard of what his political views are, apart from some extremely vague statements about his love for Teddy Roosevelt from 15-20 years ago.

I wonder about what kind of campaign he'd run.

Isn't he pro-choice? That could be a dealbreaker to primary voters.

Trump was also pro-choice before becoming president. The keyword is was.

I'd like to imagine that Dr Oz would change his position on this if he's actually serious about running, as he's probably well aware that the GOP primary electorate in Pennsylvania is staunchly conservative.

He just seems like a total wildcard to me. I could see him catching fire and getting the nomination like Trump did in 2016, but he could also be a complete flop like Caitlyn Jenner in the recall.

100% this. I don't even know if he's actually running or if these rumors are hogwash, but the insiders I know are generally fairly reliable even if they are hardly oracles.

He should run in New Jersey, where he lives. He doesn't live in PA.

He should run against Bob Menendez in 2024, he could give the NJGOP their first Senate win since 1972.

I'd like to agree with you, but if Oz announces that run on Fox anytime soon.... I don't think he runs against corrupt Bob.

It’s official! My sources were right again.

I think he will announce it on Fox tonight, earlier than expected.

Yup, I saw that. He also filed paperwork.

I didn’t expect him to announce it this early today, but my sources were accurate.

Dr Oz looks to be running a populist campaign around lowering drug/prescription costs and standing up to the Washington establishment, while still having the appearance of a moderate. That's the best campaign he could possibly run, and with high name recognition he's a shoe-in for the primary and general.
Taking a look at his website, he talks about education and stopping jobs from being shipped to China. Oz is literally the best candidate Republicans could ask for.

If he's running as a Youngkin style candidate- a mix of populism while not pissing off suburbanites, he's definitely a strong contender.
