Is Alaska RCV not a queer variation of RCV that includes a Top-4?

If so it's virtually impossible that she would receive less than 25% of the vote, so why all the hot takes?

Yeah, it's a single nonpartisan blanket primary, but instead of the top-2 advancing to the general like in CA & WA, it's top-4 & the general utilizes RCV if necessary 'til somebody's over 50%.

I'm very interested in seeing how it plays out. As far as blanket primaries go, I think this system is better than CA/WA since the odds of a partisan lockout are low.

Yeah, I think we can probably sleep on him. He did worse than Biden.

I’m somewhat confused at how Alaska’s system works (is it the same as Maine?)

I’m not sure I’m getting this right because wouldn’t it make sense for the DNC to say - give us your vote on item A, item B and we we’ll back off in a big way. Maybe even wink wink support you?

Which would be enough for her to win... (or wrong?)

(real) Republicans + Democrats > Trumpers

Right?....

The general is similar to Maine, but the primary isn’t. It's a jungle primary (like California/Washington), but the top four candidates advance rather than just the top two. From there, the general is RCV.

I really think Lisa Murkowski's best bet would be to forgo the Republican primary and announce she is running as an independent, and will still caucus with the Republicans if she wins.  She probably has a better chance of winning a 3 way race as an independent than winning a Republican primary.

Alaska doesn't have partisan primaries anymore. It's a blanket primary like CA or WA, but the top four advance to the general rather than the top two, and the winner is elected by RCV.

Can't wait for her, Collins, Manchin, and Sinema to vote against her because "she's too left wing", ugh.

Collins, Manchin and Sinema will all vote yes.

At this point, I'd actually be pretty shocked if Murkowski loses.
