That’s insane. Can you really spring a confidence vote on someone retroactively like that?

Bit off topic, but this explains everything.

The writers of Tory Time are really going all out to prevent an early cancellation of the show.

Things like this are definitely going to help Truss get the support of MPs.

A British politician taking the time to support the Cleveland Browns is somehow not the strangest thing about Liz Truss. Somehow.

What I imagine is going on in the UK right now:

Which naturally means that Charles takes over as dictator.

Forgot to mention that if it ends up anything like my HOI4 games, Charles will invade the Commonwealth nations, Ireland, and the US to "Unite the Anglosphere." And he might take out Italy and the Dutch if he feels like it too. Hell, he might just conquer the world.

Buckle up folks. And God Save the King!

Brian is probably just praying at this point that Truss is somehow still PM when The Crown S5 drops next month.

I know I will probably get slated for this again but I'd still definitely keep an eye on Braverman - a dark horse to take over.

She more likely to be found in a vat of tofu in Wokingham, than be the next PM.

BTW, I don't know it's be noted here yet, but the utter chaos of the fracking and/or confidence vote was started by Labor calling for a vote on extending the fracking ban.  The member of Labor who submitted the call--Ed Milliband.

Payback is a Mutha.

Different organization makes direct analogy impossible, because no team could be as bad for as long as the Browns have been. The best analogy to the Browns' winless season is Derby County's 2007–08 season (one win and eight draws in thirty-eight games), which was the worst season by an English team at the top level in a very long time.

Plot twist.

Government sent a text to journalists at 1.30am saying it was a confidence issue but No.10 had mistakenly told the Minister to say it wasn’t.

Claiming they‘ll discipline those who abstained (rumours it’s around 16 out of 40- others were paired) but I mean it’s all a joke already.

Imagine if your boss invited you to a meeting, uninvited you, and then your line manager quits as you walk into the meeting, so you leave only to get you were needed.

Yeah, actually, I can kinda understand that. Took me a sec and then I reflected on how much of a mess work has been for me in the last few weeks.

I can only imagine what fresh clusterf[Inks] we have in store for us today (well, still tomorrow for me on the West Coast for another 45 minutes). I’m thinking Truss will be out today (Thursday) or tomorrow (Friday). Biggest sticking point is who will take over. Coffey? May? Gove?

Trying to explain this to a friend who knew about the lettuce but hasn't been keeping up otherwise, and I'm finding it really difficult to convey all aspects of the madness. Just astonishing how the vote was handled - and how bad Truss is at running her own government.
