Breaking News: Thousands of Cuban exiles have taken to the streets in Miami, protesting former President Blair's decision to lift sanctions on the Cuban regime. Many have expressed concern that the lifting of the sanctions served to embolden the oppressive, authoritarian regime in the island nation. At this time all reports indicate that the protesters are peaceful, although police are on stand-by in the event of hostilities.

Breaking News: The Cuban protests have turned violent as night falls. Reports on the scene say that police, acting on orders from the Mayor of Miami-Dade County, began to attempt to disperse the crowd as the sun was setting, citing a "clear and present danger" to having so many people in such a densely populated area in the dark. Protesters refused to disband their movement, standing firm despite strong orders from police.

After nearly an hour of verbal standoff, the police line charged the protesters. This is believe to have led to the outbreak of violence. Police and protesters are clashing in the streets of Miami at this time, although we do not believe any one has been killed on either side. Police are mainly using water cannons, shock-bangs, and tear gas, while protesters are largely scrambling for arms, some using the wood 2x4s their signs were attached to to attack police. According to local police, about 50 people have been arrested over the course of day.

Turkish Government Blames Atlasia

In a shocking turn of events, the Turkish Government in Ankara has released a report officially naming the government of Atlasia as a conspirator in the failed Turkish coup of 2016. The coup, led by a faction of the Turkish Armed Forces known as the Peace at Home Council, failed to oust authoritarian President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Ever since, Erdogan has been leading a purge in the country, arresting anyone who was related to the coup and removing people he believes to have been loyal to the coup, from college professors to flight attendants. The report, published today, indicates that the Atlasian government provided "strategic and moral assistance" to the Peace at Home Council in an effort to bring "Westernized" democracy into Turkey and remove the strong-man Erdogan from power.

Erdogan has lashed out strongly at the government of Atlasia and has sped up plans to build closer ties with Russia. He has announced that his government will began taking the steps to join the Eurasian Economic Union, a Russia-backed EU-like group, as well begin conducting joint military exercises with the Russians. Dr. George Waters, a professors of international relations at Harvard, said that there was still time for the Atlasian government to fix the souring, but added it would take serious work on the part of President Yankee.

Breaking News: After months of uncertainty, caused by the Conservative Party Coup against Theresa May and the subsequent snap election, the United Kingdom has a government. Kenneth Clark, of the One Nation Tories, and Owen Smith, Labour Leader, announced they had agreed to form a coalition government, headed by Clark as Prime Minister and Smith as Deputy Prime Minister. Just a One Nation Tory-Labour Government would fall three seats short of a majority, leading Clark to extend an olive branch to the May Faction, appointing former Prime Minister Theresa May as Foreign Secretary in exchange for the support of her 23 MPs. The government, described by observers as a rare example of a grand coalition in British politics, will also likely receive the supply and confidence of the Liberal Democrats, the Scottish Nationalist Party, the SDLP, the SDP, the UUP, and the New Labour Revivalist Party, giving it about 382 total votes in the Commons.

The new coalition government comes after months of a caretaker government led by Lord Heseltine. Boris Johnson had hoped to form a minority Unionist Conservative government with the support of UKIP and Labour Tribune, but could not come to terms agreeable to all parties.

News Update: As was reported earlier, protests that began in Miami late last week have spread across the nation. Protesters have organized marches, occupied public parks, and held rallies in several major cities, including New York City, Nyman, Boston, Chicago, and Los Angeles, as well as the ongoing protests in Miami. Although none of the new protests are a large as the original Miami protest, they do show a broad coalition between Cuban refugees and the anti-communist right, who are sympathetic to the struggle of the oppressed Cubans.

Breaking News: Turkish state-run media is reporting that the Atlasian Ambassador to Turkey, Jon Base, has been shot dead while touring an Ankara art gallery. At this time, it is believed that the assassin was a rouge Ankara police officer with ties to ISIS, but Le Petit Atlasien cannot confirm this. Turkish media is reporting that the assassin is still on the loose.

The assassination comes at a low point in Atlasian-Turkish relations, as the Turkish government continues to assert that the Atlasian government played a critical role in the failed coup attempt late last year.

Breaking News: During the Atlasian presidential election, the Turkish government is releasing an official report on their allegations of Atlasian involvement in the failed 2016 coup.

According to the report, released from the office of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, contact was established in April of 2016 between coup-leader General Akın Öztürk and Lieutenant Commander Mitch Flint, a mid-level official in the Atlasian Defense Intelligence Agency. The report alleges that Flint, hoping to "advance Atlasian interests", stoked the idea of a coup in Öztürk's mind and released to him dozens of classified Atlasian intelligence documents on President Erogan's government. As the July 15 coup date raced closer, Flint also provided Öztürk with "strategic assistance" in the planning of the coup but the line of communication fell silent 48 hours prior, possibly as a sign of Flint getting cold feet. The report says that Flint was operating on direct orders from "the senior leadership of the Atlasian government", but provided no evidence to corroborate the claim. It should be noted that Lieutenant Commander Flint was fired in October of 2016 by the DIA for an unrelated matter.

Atlasian intelligence officials have not commented on the report as of yet, but it sure to play a part in the on-going Atlasian presidential election.

Mr. GM, may I have an answer to my question please?

This is no longer the active official Atlasian news source. This belongs to the former GM, Kal. The news source of my administration is The Atlasian Standard. But, to answer your question, no, the UK is not out of the EU. They are, roughly, at the same pace as the RL UK, although our UK won't be having a snap election, so it may move along quicker.
