I would like to announce the formation of the National Rifle Association with me, Sam Spade, as Chairman.

The necessity of its creation has arisen through the blatantly fascist and unconstitutional bill called the "Firearm Cooling Arm Act" placed forward by Senator Mike Naso and the attempts of the Constitutional Convention to restrict our freedoms to keep and bear arms.

The main importance of this organization is to protect our rights as gun owners from federal or regional intrusion.

At some point in the near future, I will write a platform and bylaws for this organization, but as for right now, any legal and registered voter in Atlasia that the chairman deems a worthy protector of our gun rights as Atlasian citizens will be allowed to join our fine organization if he/she wishes.

If you wish to join, please indicate so on this thread and if you wish, you may add our banner to your signature.

I support the NRA all the way. I was appealing to my moderates since I campaigned on a cooling off act. However, my father is in the NRA, Selleck, Heston, NASO!

Read your own legislation, you Barbara Boxer-wannabe.

You are a gun grabber and a fascist and my organization will do everything in its power to make sure that you lose any election you run in.

I'm proud to join. I for one oppose the cooling down act and wish to see it fail to pass. The Right to have and bear arms shall not be infringed ya' know.

We here at the NRA totally agree.

Think an air conditioner would have the same effect.

Anyway, I'll join.

Welcome.

Will the NRA support my amendment to the firearm act?

Firearm Cooling Off Act
Clause 1-
Senator Mike Naso shall be permanently known as "Senator" Chief of Staff Bulldogweisernickle

Clause 2-
All those who oppose this bill will have to wear a dunce cap in public for a week.

We'll support it as its own separate bill.  But not with the rest of that other crap legislation.

That amendment would override the rest of the bill.

Good, then we'll support it.

Welcome, gentlemen to the NRA.

And Alcon, I promise there won't be any cheap stunts from this NRA like that one, however this chairman is thinking about having our first national meeting somewhere in NE Ohio, fwiw.

Withdraw your blatantly fascist and unconstitutional bill from the halls of the Senate and write a public apology for trying to interfere with the gun rights of fellow Atlasians and I might be willing to let you join.

If your serious about encouraging responsible gun ownership and all that, sure I'll join.

The NRA is always about responsible gun ownership and making sure that people are properly trained in the handling and use of guns and aware of the safety precautions necessary in order to maintain gun safety.

Always has been too.  Anyways, welcome to all new members.

I support the 2nd amendment, but I don't support the legalization of assault weapons, support background checks at gun shows, and don't support banning lawsuits against gun manufacturers for gun violence.  So, does this qualify me even with all these liberal stances?

I have no intention of enforcing ideology on members, except in extreme cases (like people who believe in gun confiscation, etc.).

This is mainly an organization designed to lobby against laws at restricting the rights of gun owners and the like.

That's the main reason why Naso's not allowed in here.  Because of the laws he wrote specifically designed to restrict the rights of gun owners.

Anyway, if you want to join, feel free.

I think I'll sit it out until the platform and bylaws are written.

That's fine.  It could be a little while before I get that done, but I will, eventually.
