If the Australian Labor Party could go back in time today and reverse the result of any internal leadership battle, it would certainly (if in a lucid state of thought) pick one of the two in which Beazley failed to be elected (December 2003 or December 2006).

Not sure. Perhaps Beazley would've kept the party better in line, but his campaigns from what I've read (I was like 6 when he was first Opposition Leader Tongue) were uninspiring in contrast to Kevin 07 (which was pretty good, though nothing on Obama 08 I have to say).

Likely would've preferred Julia to run, but it's also likely her first term may have fallen into a flaming wreck of destruction.
