What does a Bevin win mean for social programs like Food Stamps?

He'll abolish them.

If that happens, then it will be a case of voters getting what they vote for. He'll still blame Obama for it, though.

Holy crap. Statewide offices change parties all the time. Dems please stop acting like it's the end of the world. Not every state votes 100% for one party all the time. Try again harder in four years.

This is true. Ernie Fletcher won the Governor's seat and that didn't turn out so well.

Federal =/= State. This is only the second GOP governor in 40 years

I am very well aware of the history, thanks. I'm just making a point that Republicans winning in a Republican state isn't shocking.
